Flat tire Notification??

Hey Everyone,

I blew out my right rear tire on the freeway yesterday afternoon (nice big hole), but I didn't notice my little yellow light on my dash.
Aside from a chime and a yellow light on the dash (didn't notice it initially), does our large LCD screen not notify you that you have a pressure issue??

Little to say, I had to switch to my new winters early and now have to look for a new tire in the spring. I drove on a full flat for close to a mile (it was unsafe to stop), so the tire is toast.. The good news is the RIM is okay.

Any suggestions on how to get the tpms notified you a little better of a pressure drop?? OR we out of luck?

Thanks

Hope there was no damage to your rim Mike.
(Mike, check our meet in the GTAFX section)

I've noticed that this symbol means a tire with lower pressure than the others:

And this one in red, along with that terrible noise, means really low pressure:

And yes, it will do it even after you have removed the tire and put on the spare, but left the flat in your trunk. :mad.:

I wish the LCD was more interactive with warnings and car issues... Because I didn't hear the chime (windows were open), it cost me a tire.. :(

I've never heard a chime on my FX, the warning light comes on but no chime.

What the hell is the point of having a TPMS if it doesn't get your attention!!!!!
I agree, I run for half the year with no tire sensors and all I get then is the dash light the whole time, but never, ever a warning chime.

Depending of the info recieved from the computer, the system can either throw the yellow gauge light or the red light which is accompanied by the chime alarm.
When I had a pretty good puncture, I monitored it as I drove home. The dash light turned red probably somewhere around 15-20 psi and the alarm sounded. If the system doesn't detect the sensor, it just shows yellow caution.
