Battery Tie Down

Wondering if anyone else has run into this issue.

Recently changed my battery and the tie down no longer works as the new battery is slightly taller. I've gone to the store to confirm that I was sold the right one (even went to another store to cross-check) and everything checks out.

I'm also thinking that it may just be me. I mean, the tie down isn't the easiest of things to latch back on when you throw the new battery in. Very minimal clearance and light. But it just seems that the J bars are too short for my new battery.

Anyways, driving around without a tie-down right now. Tell me what I should do and whether it's safe to at least temporarily be driving without one.

Go to your local store again and buy new J bars, they have universal longer ones most likely.

Do this ASAP, not safe to drive around with a battery that weighs a lot that can go flying.

I have a monster battery in there. Had to get a different battery tie down, universal one should work fine. Cut down the bars if they are too long.
