Hello I am new to the site and also do not know anything about cars
I have the 05 fx 45 and wanted the wheels to be spaced alittle further
to the edge of the body... I am assuming i will need a space and new lugs.
can anyone gimme a link to what i can buy... all the info with numbers just
really confuses me. I won't be doing it my self either do not own any tools.
if you can just supply me with a link so i can just punch in my CC number and buy....
Thank you so much...
WOuld it also be dangerous? some guy at the performance par shop told me
spacer on stock will be dangerous n just told me to buy new rims when i'm ready...
hmmmmm

I have had 25 mm H&R DRM Series on to give the stock wheels perfect flush against the fender. You will need 2 sets (4 pieces). Much have talk about the safety of wheel spacers. You do a search on spacer here and you'll see. So I'm not going talk about it here again. I can tell you I have been running with spacers with OEM and after market wheels without any issues. I check the the torque on the nuts for a peace of mind. I have not notice any of the twenty nuts is off the torque specs for the last year and half that I have wheel spacers on. I can tell you that almost most chain tire shop will not touch you tires if you have spacers on though.

Ah... that's why you take your wheels/tires off to get balanced. Sneaky sneaky...=)

 that not exactly the reason. I felt a some vibration on the passenger rear and the ride just not the same these past few weeks, so I decided to take it in for spin balance and take that opportunity to run the torque wrench over each stud while it in the open.

Problem solved?

Problem solved?
I had a quick run on a local "test track/stretch" of the road around me and I took it up to 80mph for about 10 seconds. Seems the problem resolved. I will have a better feel on the way to work tomorrow morning.

Yes, now Andy has "piece of mind".
Nothing escapes your eyes Lance.
I still remember the one about "ride wife":wink: Having too much fun on here aren't we?

by the way how much would it cost to go to local shop to get them all fitted in?
the new "lugs" i believe?..........? and the spacer? would there be cuting on the lugs?
and do i need new bolts?

sorry i meant studs
well i guess the ichiba version 2 will be better for me.. cuz it's got the studs
in it already now if i got the studs ichiba 2 would i need to cut the original studs off!!!!!? or it fits snug so i don't need no trimming?
which will be better? more safer and easier and cheaper...?
thank you thank you

LOL, where is this local 'test track/stretch' of road around you?

?

angry, just like la_fx, I have the H&R 25mm DRM spacers I run for my stock 20" winter setup. I comes with everything you need, no need to cut or trim or whatever you were asking. Its all direct bolt on, easy to do your self.

Not sure if the Ichiba spacer will clear the stock wheel. I don't have any experience with the Ichiba spacer. Someone with Ichiba spacer will have to chime in on this.

I know for a fact that the studs on the 25mm H&R DRM series spacer will clear the stock wheel or any wheels for that matter. The H&R DRM Series I refer to are also comes with studs on them too.

I don't see why you need to go to a shop to install the wheel spacer.
Here's the installation steps:
1) Loosen the lug nut just enough before you lift the tire off the ground.
2) Jack one wheel up. Place a jack stand in place. Safety First!, always use a jack stand when wheel is off the ground.
3) Once the car is on jack stand securely, undo the lug nuts completely and take the wheel off the hub.
4) Put the wheel spacer onto the hub and tight it down with just enough pressure with the lug nut that came with the wheel spacer, then torque it to 85 ft-lb.
5) Put the wheel back onto the installed wheel spacer and tight the wheel down with just enough pressure with the stock lug nut, then torque it to 85 ft-lb.

Repeat the steps 1 thru 5 on the other three wheels and you're done.

No wonder you sort of at a lost. Anyhow, here is the link again as I have posted on the #2 reply to your post up above. Click here: 25 mm H&R DRM Series to take you to the ebay listing that I found the cheapest & free shipping too. That is the right one for our car. It comes with stud already mounted onto the wheel spacer.
