Who would want to get together either for a mini mod session (Handy Andy Style) Or a larger meet before the always fun Chicago winter sets in? (Not that some Chicago winter scenes wouldn't make for some good photos)

If people are interested and/or have dates in mind feel free to post!:iS:
 
I think I'm getting my car back this weekend. Then I have to go to the Infiniti dealership, my local mechanic (get wheels on and 02 port), then cousin's shop (hi-output alternator, CarLink install, new fabric for speaker covers).

I would say October 9th is the earliest, and that is pushing it.

Hopefully it's not snowing by then=)

Andy, what's the deal with your audio -- which one you keeping? I'll buy whatever you don't use. I still need an audio input for my iPod and PIE Nav/TV. Sucks not having any sound=)
 
I'm keeping the MediaBridge. Bass is flatten when play titles from a USB stick still, but I've been playing titles using a media player that I install on my Samsung Charge this morning, it is called PowerAmp via BT. The same title play through the PowerAmp media play is night and day comparing to the media player that came with the phone. The PowerAmp media player has lots more controls, preset EQ and allow custom settings on bass & treble. You welcome to try out my old GROM unit if you want. As you know, it not 100% reliable. Still some hiccups once in awhile after all the firmware updates.
 
any idea were you guys wanna hold the meet at? I'm normally good to go on saturdays.

what is a "handy andy style" meet? must be lingo only on this board.
 
I'm sure assuming we can agree on a day people will be fairly open to location. Handy Andy style has just become common because many of us have gone to his house to get installs done (mainly by Andy, La_Fx35). So just in reference to a few people meeting if installs were on the agenda by anyone?

I'm sure we can all figure out together what a convenient day would be to get a meet. Looks like a few have some restrictions coming up! (restrictions that will be worth the wait so we can enjoy too!) so perhaps late October we can try to shoot for?

Welcome aboard. As Blueduck has explained, I just happen to be a bit more handy around cars and my name happen to be Andy too.:laugh: Hence, then name came about.
A few members in the area decided to have me help them with various installs. I post up the install. If time allows, we go for food and photos; therefore, it has become a lingo on this forum for those in the Chicago area. This past year, we have had two bigger meets with as many as 12 FXes. Lake front planetarium area has been our favorite.

Haha, I have to chime in too.

Andy apparaently can do everything on the FX except window tinting:rofl:

Andy has a garage full of tools, ramps, jacks, etc... and his house is a nice location too -- which is why we typically end up there.

Also, we always call on Andy to help us on mods, and then 1 little mod turns into a few of us stalking each other and showing up at his house.

Andrew Aero, is also a lurker and knows the good places to eat=)

So true... I can't tint. Need to go and observe a pro at work on this sometime. Not sure about far western subs a nice location, but a nice enough street that I live on that can easily handles 10+ FXes park in a circle. My neighbors were like... what you're a member of a Infiniti FX car club? Err really? :laugh:
