as some of you know. I have been looking for more power but cant spend larger amounts of money and I cant be without a car for along time too. So after doing lots and lots of research on aftermarket mods I think I should of "in the first place" bought an fx35. I didnt know much about the 45 and thought they would of made something for them. but no :frown: So my question to you is.... what creates more power? JWT twin turbo kit, procharger or stillen supercharger? they all seem to be around $6500 and the fact they make alot more aftermarket parts makes it hard to resist a 35? any advise or thoughts on this? LIke I said I "might" I have grown attatched to my vk45 and love the sound but I think a supercharger would sound better

The JWT turbo would make the most power. A stock kit JWT 530BB kit on a stock FX is great bang for buck. Don't try to do too much and everything remains relatively simple.

What's the best place to buy the JWT and what's a good price?? The Stillen seems to be the cheapest...

Stillen is the simplest of the 3 to install/remove maintain. Not that the other 2 require much maintenance.

There may or may not still be limitations to the JWT kit for purchase and installation. Before it was install by the selling dealer only. The JWT kit was tailored around being carb legal. carb legal acceptance includes not touching the fuel injectors. What the JWT kit does instead of running an aux pump or aux injector is modifying the fuel regulator at the pump. When boost is sensed (vacuum/pressure sense) the regulator is opened up allowing the pump in the basket to not be restricted. Not perfect, but you will find plenty of people with stock kits on stock engines running without problem.

This is different than Vortechs use of an aux inline pump that turns up with boost sense. Stillen uses an aux injector that activates with boost.

Prochargers sound horrible to me, vortechs slightly less horrible, stillen is only loud when gassing it. Turbos are a symphony. :tongue (2):

Good info Rookie....in your opinion, including install/labor and everything, which would you recommend? And what about the HKS supercharger? Is it as good/better than the
Stillen?

Have you considered NOS? Ive had a procharger...mine eventually started to leak oil. Roots type blowers, like on my Shelby, generated alot of heat soak. Go with the turbo.

I have thought about a zex wet kit and it seems to be the cheapest easiest way to gain some power but I would like my power gain to be in the lower rpm's or right off the launch. there is something about the pull and the g force from a dead stop thats makes me smile. rookie has talked me into a JWT TT kit and I decided one I get into a 35 the first mods will be headers, exhaust, pulley kit,and of course the TT kit. im sure ill be happy with the results and I am hoping ill see my range around 400Hp with a fine tune "i hope"

I personally like the HKS supercharger.

Then again, I'd stay with the FX45. I like NA power and reliability, not to mention the exhaust note that only comes from a V8.

Funny. Im seriously debating trading in my 35 if I find the right 45. More power and the mpgs are basically the same (I average 13 city) Like Ed said, can't beat reliability

AWDs require a little bit of modding for the passenger side turbo piping but the JWT has been installed on those too.

HKS seems like an ok kit. Probably the same power levels as vortech/procharger base kits. The centrifugal supercharger kits have lots of tinkering available. Pulleys headers all that stuff.

If you can control yourself as far as wanting more and more the base JWT is great. I only started with a built motor because I blew up my motor with the Stillen. hahahahah

Cool thx Rookie....when I eventually do go FI, I may just go for the JWT. Unless I can find a reaaally good deal on the HKS or Stillen...

Don't get me wrong, the VK45 is/was a great start. It is not a modders dream engine, as these FXs get older they are cheaper to get into. If someone were to want to build up a FX the 35 is more friendly to possibilities. LS swaps are going to be more and more common with the sikky swap kit and there is another swap kit out there too. Wiring will get a lot easier as well.

LS7 for NA, LSA or LS9 for stupid torque and lotsopowah.
