how do you like a sound of 850whp fx35

Wow my last post was almost two years ago in this thread, see post #66. I'm close to being finished with my second FX turbo build! Patience is absolutely necessary. As is time and money.

Tell me more about those valve covers!!! Any way to get more? I know that the spark plug seals are not replaceable on the OEM valve covers. If they leak, I just have to buy new valve covers. With an aluminum cover, is there an off the shelf seal or do you just use silicone?

Ive never really seen any custom shops commit to a completion date. They'll give you a window but that goes out the window with the very first speed bump. Custom work just takes more work than assembly.
 
I remember reading old threads about them on the .org brad. They seem to be available from an older nissan type but some adjustments needed to be made. That also answers your spark plug answer as well i gues ;-)

It is possible to replace the spark plug gaskets, if you're talking about what I think you are. Apparently it's a common issue on the VQ, so a company ended up finding a way to replace them. Not sure how it would hold up in FI versus stock, because I don't think it's as good as a replacement.

Not sure if R&D Factory is still active or not, as the thread was older when I found it. I guess they never gave out the PN for the gasket themselves so you can't just order them from Nissan. They are/were in Chino though, so not too far.

We pulled the crank back out because the pistons were hitting the oil squirters. You can see by the clearance there how tight it is with the 100mm pistons installed.

We had to tap the holes for the squirters and then install plugs

All the plugs are installed. We will now make a custom oil squirter system that gets its oil externally and attaches through the oil pan. This is going to be extremely trick

Brad you see the position on the driver side valve covers breather nippel. It is at top on the back side of the cover. Ours is at the rear of the cover.

both are GT35rs with different compressor covers. The passenger turbo is staying. The driver turbo is from another project.. still waiting on the identical twin to ship in.
