DICE MediaBridge iPod/iPhone USB Integration Kit + Bluetooth

nice!

Here's a sneak peak of my project, only possible thanks to the MediaBridge being released. (I went through a lot of trial and error in the process, and bought equipment that I didn't need or that didn't work)

I'll do a full how-to on the install as soon as I tie up some loose ends with switches and aux inputs..

That's really cool, what kind of modifications did you have to do to get the video?

And can you explain how to access the back of the radio and tell us which mount you used with the G2 cradle?

I don't want to spoil the write-up with too many details, as I'd like to try and contain all the info in one thread for future reference.

But the jist of it is Kuda base, DCR-50 cradle, a couple modified factory switches, PAC VCI-NIS video interface, and of course the MediaBridge. There a few variables and parts that can be tweaked to user preference which I'll try and cover.

How is the sound quality and volume level compare to the OEM CD player? Does the steering wheel controls able to control at least the FF & RW functions of whatever device it is currently playing?

Sound quality is as good or better than CD. The volume level matches other sources. There are settings adjustments for the device to add or subtract gain if you need to tweak it. The manual explains it, but there is a way to enter settings from the radio within 5sec of selecting the source.

Steering wheel controls the presets row on the FX, not tracks. If you use FM radio presets, you notice that hitting seek up on the steering wheel goes to your next saved preset. Same thing goes for SAT radio, therefore the MediaBridge too. Except the MediaBridge uses presets to switch modes.

Only the factory cd changer can use the steering wheel for track control for some reason.

Can you give me a review of the Kuda base and maybe a better picture? I'm deciding between that and the pro clip mount

The KUDA Mount feels very high-quality, clearly hand crafted. It's made from a fiberglass mold and wrapped in factory matching fake-leather. It connects really solidly to the car. No wiggle at all. Feels very durable. Here's a few more pics:

Steadi, you got me hooked on this device (Dice MediaBridge). I ordered one today. I will add to this thread once I got mine going.

Awesome! I hope you like it. Where did you get it from and did you get a good deal? Mine was about $215 on Amazon from the seller ZebraTronics. But they only had the 1 in stock at the time.

Same place, ZebraTronics thru Amazon.

Do you have an 04 or 05 w/ Nav? I'm pretty sure the electronics are the same and all would function as expected. Here's some excerpts from the 05 and 06 FSM's. The 05 w/o Nav is cleary a very simple display, in fact there is no DCU (it's all handled in the display unit). Notice the 05 w/nav and the 06 display electronics are the same. I see the same 5-wire Red-Green-Blue-Sync-GND wiring in both the 05 w/ nav and the 06, which says color to me. I know for certain that these are the signals needed for a NavTV, PIE NIS/NAV-EYE1, PAC VCI-NIS, or other video interface.

First, the 05 without Nav:

Then the 05 with Nav:

Finally, the electronics for all 06's:
