GROM has a reputation for being cheaply made and I have heard complaints of low audio quality. I've had USA Spec which has good audio quality but still a couple shortcomings.

You should really look at the DICE MediaBridge kit that just came out of beta testing for Infiniti/Nissan vehicles. I'm one of the first buyers according to the DICE techs and I've done a full review over on InfinitiFX dot org. Check it out in the audio/video/nav forum. I'm not allowed to post links or images here otherwise I would just post the review here.

It is by far the best kit I've used in these vehicles. Works on USB instead of Serial and includes text-to-speech, Bluetooth handsfree & streaming, and Aux In. Works flawlessly with NavTV with one simple cable too. Controlled by the radio or directly on the phone. No need to be jailbroken. Plays audio out of other apps without any special setting or mode. Kits were in the low $200's on Amazon when I got mine.

Buy the MBR-1503-NIS. The harness is 3ft and your iPhone/iPod USB cable (not included with the MediaBridge) is also 3ft. Between the 2, you can reach anywhere from the center console to the glove box. It depends on where you choose to put the MediaBridge brain. You could put the whole brain in the glove box if desired.

So you definitely recommend this over the USA Spec? What are the better features of this one?

Yes and yes. If you're doing a video installation, any Apple certified AV cable with a USB plug works flawlessly to extract video and pass audio to the MediaBridge.

You will get radio and iPod control simultaneously in "unlocked" mode (which just means the device is unlocked when you connect it). Locked mode (just the opposite) puts up the "Accessory connected" screen on the iPod app, but radio controls still work. I have found no difference between modes if you're jailbroken and have the "NoAccessorySplash" app. Steering controls will remain hampered because the "seek" button controls the presets row on these cars, not the track.
