rear chrome plate has rust look

The infiniti has a rust look on it. its on the chrome trim right under the licence plate. Its located on the top right on that trim. is there a way to get rid of it? wold it be covered under warranty?

Covered under warranty would depend on if your fx is still under warranty. Post a picture of the rust so perhaps a member with similar experience can comment. But if your still covered under warranty than I suggest getting it replaced by the dealer.

yes the car would be still under warrenty. its an 08. would it cost me anything to get it replaced?

buy another one or try some #0000 steel wool & some soapy water. pics are needed though. this will only work for light rust. if its heavy rust & its kind of "caked on" then forget about it.
post a pic & post a good, close & clear one to boot =)

Same problem here and i used Turtle Wax Chrome Polish and it's like new now.

If its under warranty than no it will not cost you to get it replaced at the dealer.

Are you sure it is rust?
Mine had the same issue but it wasn't rust.
It was a brown substance that I was able to clean up with WD40.
I think it may have been some sort of sealant used to attach the chrome plate.
