AeroBFA's Autumn Copper FX45 :: 2007 Infiniti FX45

Thank you guys! I've been so ready for spring/summer for a long time now. So happy with the results again and thanks to Andrew as usual for making it happen and Ed on the terrific GB. Ed, for me I wouldn't say it was a "small" drop either, lol. How about the huge drop makes a ginormous difference?

Also decided to go flap-less for the first time and I'm really diggin' the look with the drop and tires. I'm leaving the front flaps on for now to protect the paint.

drooling, big time!... grr, so anyone have wanna supply me with about $900 so i can order a set of Kido's?? (wishful thinking :/)

Damn man thats beautiful. My car told me today that it was jealous of yours lol.

I was thinking about going "flapless" as well. The first FX I noticed without mud flaps was Stu's and I thought it looked pretty good.

Installed Morimoto 6000K HID foglights with Handy Andy tonight. They match the Morimoto 6000K headlights perfectly along with the TSX-R clear lens. Both lights are a pure white and I don't notice any tinge of blue at all. Also went back and did the Cree LED mod using a different method this time. My theory was that the Crees ran too hot in the compartment causing the Cree chips to overheat. When I opened up the headlights to do the lens swap, I removed the clear lens in the housing to allow the Cree LED more ventilation and for the heat to dissipate. I am also using a 5W Cree instead of 7W so there is less heat involved. I have been running this setup since the beginning of March and so far so good. This setup looks amazing at night and in person. It's very hard for the camera to capture everything properly.

This is the lens that was removed to open up that compartment to allow the Cree LED to ventilate. More info at: https://www.infinitiscene.com/search/1/?q=11594-DTRL-Turn-Signal-Swap

Looking good Andrew!! I need to swap my turn signals like you guys did!:) And get my hands on HID fogs, but I need something closer to 8K to match my head lights. Guess I could just swap the lightbulbs. :top:

Nice, I have cheap 6k in my Fogs I was looking into swapping mines out too lazy. Plus, I still have my OEM HIDs. How much if I may ask for the two sets and where did you purchase them TRS?

Thank you guys! I wish I had a better camera to really capture how the CREEs and Morimoto bulbs look at night.

Adam, what are waiting for you? Do it now and may as well swap the projector lens. One of the best mods you can do. :wink (2):

Good color output. How much were the bulbs?
The bulbs were $45 off the The Retrofit Source's eBay store. You can save a few bucks by submitting an offer like $5 cheaper than the list price and they will accept it. The ballasts were $60 from DDM. I did not feel like paying $150 for Mori ballasts. My last set of DDM ballasts stopped working when I did the swap. So I'm giving DDM one more chance with these new ones. Good thing about DDM is they redesigned their slim ballasts. They are encased in a metal housing and come with holes that aid in mounting with zipties etc.

Here some comparison pic of the TSX-R and stock lens. The TXS-R lens are clearly much higher clarity. I don't think I need to identify which is which. Let the lenses speak for themselves. I'm ordering me some too :smile (2):

Thanks for the comparison pics. Really amazing difference between the two. More reason for everyone to do this mod and upgrade to clear!

I think it had to do with the lights and cutoff being too bright to oncoming traffic causing a safety issue. They were changed in the recall for 2004-2006 MY cars. I think the recall was started in Canada too and spread to US models.
