Oil change made simpler

With my next oil change, I plan to modify the stock front splash guard on my 2008 FX35. I think it would be much simpler to just remove two small panels, during oil and filter change, then to have to remove the large panel.
I know an aluminum one is available but the cost is rediculous.
Any suggestions?

Where did you see the aluminum one? I would like to see if anyone has any suggestions too. It's ridiculous you have to take off the entire bottom engine cover....

IMO, the annoying part of changing the oil in my FX is not the fact that I have to remove the entire bottom engine panel, it's the fact that I have to remove 12 bolts to do so. Having easy access panels would be nice but the panels on that aftermarket panel each have 8 bolts that you have to remove. I actually like having the whole panel removed because I have complete access for changing the oil and it also allows me to give the engine underside a quick look over for any issues.

Next time I change my oil I am just going to use my drill driver with a socket to remove the panel to make the job easier and quicker.

If I had that panel I would like the front 3 screws on the doors and then 2 on the back corner. Probably no need for all 8.

I recall somebody on here modding the splash shield with two small removable windows. I will try and see if I can find it.

^^ Worth the money? The fact that it's there and costs that much, even though no one will see it, is more than worth the money .
