New car ?

For $10K I'd get THIS. B5 Audi S4. AWD, 250HP twin turbo V6 (no turbo lag), 6spd manual, comfortable, massive power potential. Done and done.

You can obviously find better examples than the one I linked if you increase your $10K limit...

so i have been looking around making sure to look at all my options this one guy offered me a 2008 infiniti g37x with only 14k miles for 18k, he admits that it was a salvage title but by the way the car looks he did body work on the sides and front of the car and it was being ready to sent off to paint, what are you guys takes on a salvaged titled car ?

just as an update on the car search, i have really grown to a liking of the g37 ive seen a couple that are fairly priced but still deciding if i should wait to find a g37x or go with a g37s with snow tires. if only i lived in a place like Cali i wouldn't have to worry about the snow :(

great car but I bet he wants something problem free, just talked about german cars versus japs... :wink (2): not bashing audi's but unless it is under warranty i would steer clear from older euro's unless he knowes somebody that knows somebody..

Salvage is a deal but that's about it. Insurance is not the same on a salvage title that you get on non salvage. Some insurance companies will place some restrictions, sometimes they won't give you the same coverage and in, worse case scenario, you get in an accident, that's another bag of warms. It also depends if it's salvage due to let's say vandalism, when the car was never in an accident but the title got changed by insurance claim. When it's a car that was in a collision, I'd find out what exactly happened ... let's put it this way, barely ever a car will be the same even if it gets professionally fixed.
If it was up to me, I'd pass on it, but again to each its own. Hope that helps:ninja:

I know its been a bit since I've updated this thread, but i figured out my school issue.
My school went up 6k so im guessing I could move a few things around and make things work (hopefully) I decided Im going for a coupe g35/g37 and gonna throw snow tires on it, I already have an FX so if the weather does go crazy Ill just switch with my brother for that week or id just walk to class :smug:. I seriously want to get my hands on a G37x coupe but their average prices are around 22kish?* I can afford the monthly payments for that type of car but Im just worried that they won't approve me because of my credit line already has one car under my name and considering Im only 19 :nerd (2):, 6months ago when I checked they said I needed another co-signer which I didn't have at the time and I still don't have one now. What do you guys recommend I do in this situation ? Any pointers would help me out tons !

And now onto the cars Ive been keeping my eye on !
I really don't want a 03-04 coupe considering Im going for an auto ( the 03-04 manual G35s have the brembo breaks) and the 05 + has the better gauges and better interior improvements, and the G37s doesn't matter the year to me just lower miles the better :D

Its a 2007 G35 coupe with 70kish miles on it, the guy is asking for 18k but kbb lowest listing is around 15k so i could try to haggle him down a bit

This is a G35 coupe, Im not really liking the color buy the price isn't that bad for it with those miles

This is a G37S not an X model but I guess I could make it work with a winter tire setup

Im still looking at a few other cars but Im 99% positive Im going with a G35/G37

How much are you trying to spend? I know two guys that might get rid of their G35 RWD. One is silver and the other one I believe it's like a champagne color.

still in the 10k range since I can't really finance it through a private sale, but yeahh if you could get me more info about them would be great !

If you want a more substantial upgrade in power, check into a 2005 Legacy GT.

In stock form it does 0-60 in 5.3s and quarter mile in 14.1s. There are a lot of relatively inexpensive mods to quickly get more power than stock. For instance, a lot of guys (like me) have doubled stock whp on the stock block. You can't double the power on a 350z with a stock block and less than $2k in mods. I outgun Z06's at the dragstrip and am just 0.30-0.4s behind the GT-R's. You might be able to find a high mileage one for $10-11k to get you into the game.

If not the LGT, then consider a WRX or EVO (as somebody else suggested). Or maybe you just wanted a mild bump in power.. ;)
