2nd gen fender vent on 1st gen fx

Hi guys
First time posting in 2+ years of membership. Love this forum and please keep this going... and going and going.......

Ok, here is my question, I really like the 2009+ fender vent and wondering if anyone have seen one or done on 1st gen FX? This is only reference I can find but it just don't look right to me, maybe thats why nobody have done it?

I think the vent should be lower and slimmer to fit on 1st gen FX...
 
There is one member that has done this on their first gen. Hopefully someone remembers who it was and can find the link for you.

I think it might look okay if you color matched it, the chrome stick out way too much.

Plus you're cutting into metal.

I'm still on the fence if I will do it or not.

yeah, definitely have to go with the matching color. now i'm thinking about the Z3 vents...
 
Old thread but I've played a little bit in PS and make side vents slimmer. It looks OK to me and make more aggressive look.
Maybe I will do this on mine :smile (2):

i see what you mean...how hard would it be to cut around it? i just think the chrome brings more contrast so the vent is more visible...painting it sort of washes it out ya know?
