With 140,000 miles my wife's fx is running like new. Our son is taking it to college this fall and is looking to "upgrade" the music system. The cd no longer works, so I am wondering if there is a simple after market replacement for the entire factory setup, so he gets a new radio, and SAT, CD, ipod connection. Any help? Thanks.

Get a grom audio USB interface. The new version allows you to plug both iPod and USB at the same time. And it's cheap compare to other brands of iPod interface.

There is no way to directly replace the oem audio system. You would have to go aftermarket. The easiest way would be to do something like this, ///415

I had my OEM stereo replaced by a guy in El Monte 6 months ago for $185...works perfect

+1 Look it up using the search bar on your computer, by far the best way to plug in an external music source.

Yea there's text display. They also offer the bluetooth add-on for the unit. I have both and they work great!
