Awhile back, probably about 5months ago i had to replace a bearing. I got it done at a local shop that was had good reviews and friends have had some experience with them. When i got the bearing done from them the day after i noticed the vdc, slip, awd lights were on. I didnt think it was a big deal and would get it checked out by infiniti but i became a little busy with school and such and never got around to it till recently. Infiniti says that the speed sensor was broken when the bearing was replaced. I have no proof that the lights were on after the bearing was broken except for my own word, and infiniti. A guy at infiniti said that its their right to back up their service of work and pay for the damages which is about a grand for infiniti service. Im thinking that i should call infiniti again and ask if it is for sure and proof that the speed sensor was not put back in place correctly and was smashed and not due to anything else. Anywho, im not sure about how to talk to the auto shop i went to that they ruined the speed sensor and is their job to back up their work. On their site they say they back up their work for life.

Just go a talk to the shop and see what they have to say, then you can reevaluate your situation depending on their response.

good luck.
The only problem here is likely the 5 months. I dont think they will remember breaking anything. On a car, You've gotta find a regular place to go. Like going to the doctor.

Thats what i was thinking, in five months things could of happened. Hopefully infiniti can prove that it was broken because the speed sensor is smashed against the bearing that is placed wrong.

should i try asking them if they know if there is a speed senor near the bearing? or what components are near the bearing that can break. That way if they admit they are not aware of it they could of easily broken it. Sorry if its kind of hard to understand.

Gto hit it on head! 5 months later and then complaint about something was broken due to their install is hard to convince anyone. Nothing to loose at this point. Have the dealer prove that the sensor was smashed, ask the shop if they aware there is a sensor there and show the shop what the dealer found.

Hindsight! Your's is 2010, right? Why didn't you take it back to the dealer at first?

yeah, i had college, after i got the bearing done and couldnt get the car to the shop and parents didnt know what to do cause they're pretty fob. The guy gave me a call today and seemed a bit oblivious to the speed sensor, he didnt know what it did, so im guessing he didnt know it was there.

I went to the dealer, but they were pretty packed and wanted to give me a rental while they worked on it but im not 21 yet so i couldnt sign papers and get the rental. Parents are working 24/7 so i just brought it to a shop that my friend went to all the time.
