Drive American

Yeah I am in the electrical union and they are anti walmart, buy american cars, yada yada yada, funny how a toyota tundra is more american than a ford. lol to each is own I have own one american car and I prefer japs!!!

Well we will see when they hit 100,000 mi. and it starts falling appart! BMW and Benz builds a lot of there cars here in the US. So what does that say about peoples ignorance!

This one's alright I guess. Could use some 34in spacers...

Not sure if you guys also picked up the license plate: I work for Ford / I drive a Ford and also the UAW stamp if you look closely.

I see these stickers and/or license plate holders all the time around here, although the sissy sticker I thought was uncalled for. Haven't seen that one before. Just shows how ignorant they are.

It's too bad I didn't know the Edge's are built in Ontario, I saw the woman who go in the car. If I knew a head of time, I would have said something probably.

It's the unions that promote this heavily to the workers, not really the workers themselves. All the UAW stations around here have large signs on the outside no foreign vehicles permitted on property. You'll only see these kind of attitudes when they are heavily pro union.

Comment about Ford reliability: recent studies have shown though that Ford is leading the way with reliability ever since Alan Mulally got in. Here is the most recent source I believe: http://businesscenter.jdpower.com/news/pressrelease.aspx?ID=2011029

You guys know about Chrysler and the new Jeep Grand Cherokee. I remember reading almost a year ago how they were able to get rid of the unions or something and basically cut workers pay in a 1/4 or something specifically for building the new Jeep. My first instinct was I wonder what the quality will be like on these after a few years.

I was at the Ford F-150 plant a few years back and was on the testing deck. One F-150 got pulled to the sign because it didn't pass inspection since one of the fog lights was out. The technician kept hitting the bumper to get the light to turn back on, didn't, and then finally replaced the bumper light. Every time I see a new white F-150, I joke wondering if it was that one.

The new Ford Edge looks pretty nice. A lady down the st has a nice one just like thisView attachment 238693 and I don't mind it. I used to be a Ford guy. Owned a 95 Mustang GT, 96 S/C Mustang GT and a 2003 Lightning. Loved them all but was sick of looking at the check engine lights and dealing with bad ball joints :eek.: . Gave Nissan a shot and loved them since.

Actually I was considering between the 2012 Jeep SRT8, the Ford Edge Sport (above but probably Red) and the Infiniti. Their Sync and keys are all touch, but what pissed me off is the Sport Edge didn't have an option for HIDs, yet the Limited does. WTF? Just was another sign of cost cutting and pissed me off. I didn't want to buy a new car for that price tag and not even have HIDs. Pissed me off too much and quickly stopped looking at it.

I noticed while driving through smaller Texas towns I got some funny looks from people.

Same thing happened to me. I drove to Ohio and West Virgina with my FX, and it gets all kind of looks. And I don't mean good looks either, but more on the lines of, "why are you driving a foreign car" kind of look. Everyon there drives Ford's and Chryslers. Never see one foreign car there besides a Sienna and Altima.
