A simple way to make your exhaust louder..

Wassup guys! I wanted to make my 45' just a lil' louder without compromising my warranty, So what i did was loosen the 2 bolts from the pipe that follows the resonator to the actual muffler, and it made a nice v8 rumble at mid to high RPMs. I am very happy with this lil mod i did. Not sure if anyone else did this as well but from my experience its really simple free way to get that sound. VID to follow.

So you loosened the bolts on the flange that connects the mid-pipe to the rear section exhaust?

Basically the exhaust has an escape route from there, where the majority of the gasses still go to the rear section muffler since it's still attached -- loosely albeit.

This is mimicking an exhaust cut-off with a switch to bypass the muffler.

You are opening yourself up to letting water in and facilitating rust. If you like it cool, but not sure what got you to do this=)

What do you mean by rusting up? And where? Because I like the sound but not that much to mess up the car LOL. What would be the end result to prolonged use of this method?

I was going to remove the Resonator but that would void part of my warranty. And I rather not mess with the cats.. thanks for the tip though:smile (2):

I was really concerned with that as well but luckily there are no rattles. wooHoo!!:smug:

Did you loosen the bolts I mentioned? If so, you just created another way for mother nature to get at the inside of your exhaust pipes.
 
Pipes should be a sealed system, rust will infiltrate the bolt holes, the flanges...wait until you can do it right man and bolt that sucker back up.
 
How does removing the resonator void a warranty? Removing it doesn't put strain on the system or makes the engine work harder. All it really does is decrease the volume levels. If your dealer is is voiding this because you cut into the oem pipes, then that dealer just plane stinks :mad.:.
 
That is creating an exhaust leak bro, which you will lose your back pressure, my commuter had a problem where my exhaust was loose and it ran like crap I had to step on it because there wasn't any back pressure. if it is just for sound get a flowmaster you will love that sound. I agree with lance, wait until you can do it right..
 
OK guys thanks for the advice. Ill trust you judgement but ill play around with the sound at least for the rest of the evening! lol. Ill bolt that sucker back on tomorrow morning! Again Thanks!
