those 2 you mention there are the same exhaust system just different tips. I installed the Gemini rolled titanium tips on my car back in May. So far I love but I did have to weld an extra hangar on it. Nismo makes one also but its $200-$300 more.

Yea go after market. I think most people have borla or invidia. Also ARK but not sure on the first gen stuff. Heard rips exhaust last meet and it was amazing! Love it

I have the invidia Gemini with the rolled burnt titanium tips along with a pair of kinetix high flow cats, love it!

Thanks guys wasn't to sure , and what other exhaust are good , don't want to go to oem the dealers prices are crazy
In addition to Invidia, there are Stillen, Nismo and HKS (rare hard to find nowadays). These are pretty pricey comparing to Invidia.

Just got back from the dealer today and told me I have a hole by the flange. He suggested oem replacement at about $950 parts and labor. I asked him about after market mufflers and he said the concern is the fitment and if the tips are the right length. My question is, since my wife drives my FX, 1) are there aftermarket mufflers out there that aren't obnoxiously throaty 2)any out there INVIDIA, HKS, etc that are direct bolt on without fitment issues. I haven't crawled under to take a look but I hear it when my wife steps on the gas.

Personally I like the stock exhaust. Mine rotted out at the flange also. Spent $100 to have the flange itself cut out & welded in a connection pipe....problem solved (until that pipe rots out)

For $950 I'd go aftermarket. I know for a fact the invidia is a direct bolt on and you can adjust the tips to the length you want. Not sure about the stillen, nismo, hks, and so on.

Always Fujitsubo or Megan Racing. Both are less than $950 - the Megan is probably $500 and both should and I emphasize the should part, be closer in sound to the factory system. They're both basically the same style as Nismo where it's closest to OEM style with one pipe and a big muffler (HKS is same style). Neither replaces the Y-pipe, so they won't be as loud as an Invidia or Stillen which replace everything behind the cats. You'd just have to extend the tips which any exhaust shop can do - you'd have to extend the tips on Nismo and HKS as well. The Invidia is noticeably louder, so if noise is a concern, make sure you understand that. It's not obnoxious, but it's quite a bit louder. I had mine customized to be quieter, and it's still pretty boomy. Anytime I leave a restaurant and the valet gets my car, I know when they get it because I hear it firing up.

Or just find a used factory exhaust, they're not that rare and they're cheap. I literally just gave mine away to a member for the cost of shipping. I considered junking it, but that felt wasteful.

Is the Megan one for the G35 and it's just interchangable with the FX? I tried looking for the FX one and couldn't find it. Is it just the rear muffler?

It's the G35 one and interchangeable. You just have to have the shop extend the tips. It's a muffler and midpipe so it replaces everything from the Y-pipe back. The Y-pipe is different on AWD vs. RWD FX due to transfer case, but Megan/HKS/Nismo/Fujitsubo are all Y-pipe back so any of them would work with tip extension.

I have Stillen that got installed in 2006, still running strong... so for me, it was worth the money... I do live in South, and my car is garage parked, so pretty sure that had something to do with longevity...
