It says don't be fooled by imitations, not available anywhere else. Guess the JLC are imitations?

I wonder if the JLC "development time" was just to apply their logo onto the side of the aluminum housings.

Off-topic, but I've been running regular LED's from autolumination for 5 years, not one LED burned out. Only a license plate LED has started a flicker after 5 years. This is from a group buy none other than Viet put together himself, bought all the LED's and shipped out I believe. So long ago, I don't remember.

$25 EACH? thats $50 for a pair!!!!!

Wow hadn't noticed.. $50 is kinda steep - was about to pull the trigger too..

I looked up the patent they keep referencing... has nothing to do with crees just in case anyone was wondering. Here's the link: http://www.google.com/patents/about?id=iOCoAAAAEBAJ

Also, while we're on the topic - check out the cree/tower hybrid edition.. hybrid stuff is always better right?

my dtrls are actually from them as well - they're like the 18-smt (or some crazy number) towers - no problems with them either.

Ya...$50 for a pair is too much + shipping too.

I wouldnt trust them beacuse they just copy and paste the same patent number for all their bulbs. 7345433 is actually for switchback led ONLY not for anything else.

We'll see might just pull the trigger if no one else does...

BTW, welcome to :iS: nicepeta! See you're a little fresh around here and already contributing. Good stuff man.

I just wanted to put this up here for future reference & for anyone looking into buying CREEs to use as DTRLs. I previously said that the bulbs are "dead" but they weren't. I guess they overheated and was lit too faintly for me to notice the light. Also when I was trying to take out the bulbs to put back in the original bulbs, they were hot to touch from being on for just 5 min. Upon taking them out I noticed that inside of the bulbs were burnt.

I sent JLC a PM and am waiting for them to reply to me about the refund. Hopefully I'll get a response soon.

On a side note, what do you guys think about the "MORE Powerful! SMT SUPER Spider Lights" from Autoilluminations? I think it'll look cool with those three stripes of LEDs spread but I'm not sure how bright they'd be. Would I be better off with the "68 High Powered Wide Angle SMT LEDS"?

Urgent update!!!!!!

DO NOT USE BOTH FILAMENTS OF THE OE BULBS!!!!!!!!!
The OE bulbs get too hot when using both filaments My headlight housings melted!!!!!
The only good news here is that I have not had them changed out under the service recall yet. Guess I will be doing that soon!!!

One thing I noticed about the OE DTRL bulbs was that they are a dual filament bulb 5w/20w and only the 5w filament was being used so I bent the outer wires on the OE bulbs to the center slots and now both filaments are lit. Not as bright as the LEDs were but much brighter than before. Guess this will have to do till I can find suitable replacements.

Hmmm that's not a bad idea I might try that out tomorrow.

Glad you caught it before it got worse. I was worried something might go wrong with that.

I'll be stopping by JLC on the 15th to return my bulbs, if anyone wants me to check on their refund status.
