Is this a defect?

When I was washing my car this morning I noticed this one blurry spot on my hood the size of a half a pea. Upon looking at it closer is was actually a tiny paint crack:

It looks like the paint is cracking in that tiny area. The thing is when I rub my finger over it I don't feel anything at all. It looks smooth. You have to seriously squint to see it. Even my camera had trouble picking it up. I was just wondering if you guys think this is a defect from the factory? I could see why this happened since they have machine's paint the cars...hmmmmm.....


Not going to make a big deal out of this since it's hard to even see it. Just something I noticed.

Don't mind the spot to the right of it. That's my finger print haha
 
Looks like maybe the clear coat is cracking... I hope it's not a mass defect; chrysler and mitsubishi had one that affected many platforms in the 90's...

I was thinking maybe it's the base coat underneath? I can't seem to feel it with my finger at all. Everything feels smooth over it.

I hope it doesn't spread. If it is the clear coat I'll just wetsand and compound it:confused:
 
Looks like a chemical reaction from when it was painted, you can always swing by the dealer and ask them to check it out so if it does get worse they have it on record.......
 
poor Aaron....his inside was having a chemical reaction, now the outside! Can this kid get a break!? :tdown:
