GEE35FX's Cross Country Tour

Very nice pictures Wayne!!

What kind of rock chip did you get on the windshield? A crack or just a chip? Are you going to replace the windshield.

Thanks Aaron.

It's a small chip about 8" up in the middle of the windshield. You can feel it with your fingernail and see it. I'm hoping it doesn't spread and I will just get it chip repaired when I get back.

Beautiful pictures. Looks like a great road trip.

Is that a lowered 2nd gen? Anyone you know?
It sure is a great trip, although we have had a bit too much rain, even had a bit of snow falling one day
As to the FX, No, I didn't know him, it looked like it was stock height and it was a FX50S

Nice pictures Wayne. Looks like a long but fun trip. Wish I could do something like that. Be a while once retired haha. How are the gas prices treating ya ?

Thanks Jesse.
As for gas, it is cheaper in Albertaand the US for me then back home, a quick estimate would be that I used $800-$900 for gas during the first 3 weeks and we aren't half-way there yet.

Heck, that's too bad we missed each other. I was in Saskatchewan for a week. We stayed in Weyburn, Swift Current, and Moose Jaw. We could have stayed around Regina.
We are heading to Cochrane tonight after a G35 Car meet in Red Deer and Sylvan Lake. Then we are off to Banff/Lake Louise/Jasper then over to British Columbia.

I tell you, the FX is a fantastic touring machine. With the full tech package it is in it's glory on long distant cruises. On a few days we were travelling 600-700 kms/day. You never get tired of driving in the FX.

Nice pics Wayne, thanks for sharing. More with the FX! :)
Thanks Lance.
I'll get more with the FX in it.

In a week or two we are heading to a place called Logan Pass. It is located along the Continental Divide
in Glacier National Park, in Montana.
I'll get some good pics there for you, it is supposed to be some wild winding roads through the mountains.

Great pictures Wayne. Keep them coming! Just curious, how long does it take to clean the dirt and mud off after the "Muddy Back Roads in Saskatchewan". Hope the rock chip on the windshield can hold up until you return home!

Reeeeeally nice. pretty up there. AWD handle good in that mud?
Actually Dave, it got pretty tense on one road. I put it in park on the incline and the FX started sliding backwards in park. The road just kept getting worse, I was sliding back and forth as I was going forward. I eventually turned around.

Thanks Andy.
The DIY carwashes are fantastic here in Sask and Alberta. You seem to get more time for your money, more pressure and more soap. The wash bays are huge.
There are more 1/2 ton 4x4 trucks on the roads than anything else, and most are covered in mud.

The rock chip seems to be staying the same (fingers crossed)

The Fx actually cleaned up quite well and I gave it a good cleaning underneathe..

Sweet views Wayne. I'm glad you and the Mrs are having a great time. Next time take me with you, I dont eat much and can be strapped to the roof rails during the trip
