need some advice narrowing down a FX

2008 fx35 AWD
Im in the market for a fx but not sure how to narrow down my options so i was hoping fellow is members can help me out!

fx35 vs 45
-most likely gonna leave it stock with minor mods in the future. can the fx45 have a z tube intake or a nismo exhaust?



years to get or stay away from?
-from researching, the only difference between first gen and 2nd gen(06-08) is the interior?
- what options where not offered between the two generations?

well First gen FX came out in 2003 to 2008.. second gen in 2009 and up.. the diference between the 2 .. a lot.. the first gen got a update on interior and minor exterior trims in 2006. so 2006 would be the way to go cause of the updates.. now the FX come with three pkg. Sport pkg would offer you 20' rims,Sport suspension(so they say) silver roof rails,dark chrome grill,sport tail lights,sport head lights,aluminum pedals. Technology pkg and cruising pkg would offer you Nav system, lane departure to help you stay within lanes, and another piece of technology that would brake for you while is on cruise control. also itll bring rear entertainment system. so it all depends what you want. there are some 05 and below with more options than 06 and up... so you can get a fully loaded 03-05 FX for cheaper than a 06-08 with a few option in.. so once again.. it all depends what you want..

Also If your intentions are to mod down the road, the 45 doesn't leave to much room in the engine bay to play around with. The 35 is very mod friendly and a little easier at the gas pumps (don't get me wrong they both guzzle gas..) .

Amen to that! I guess it is one of the minor trade off from owning an FX. The joy and pleasure from owning outweights all. Hell, I would find every single excuse to take out the car.

Thanks for the awesome info and clearing some stuff up. i was wondering what would the minor exterior changes be? also what is the third package?

also if i was to get a 05, can i find one with tech package, sport, remote start, key less entry and start(called ikey?)

yes you can but i would still try to get an 06 or newer because of the interior updates.

the third one is the cruising pkg( i think) it'll give you all the bells and whistles when you are cruising..

the interior upgrades would be better leather for the seats(breathable) so it wont get wrinkle as faster as the 03-05.

the seats control are relocated to a better position(on the left side for the driver/right side for the passenger)

better more updated Nav system, bubbling dashboard its Fixed..

and more lil thing that made the FX from Best to Great..

*there is no OEM remote start for the 03-08 FX.

I have the 06' and in the winter i noticed that my car didn't start on the first crank. usually the 2nd. Although i put some NGK Iridium spark plugs and haven't experienced the problem since.
