VDC/Snow button have no effect

When I had my 2008 EX35 the snow mode button definately reduced the throttle response when starting from a complete stop. This FX50S doesnt do anything that I can feel even though I floored the throttle several times from a dead stop?
 
I used the snow mode in my 2005 FX45 the other day for the first time and I felt a big difference when trying to get out of my driveway!

It also raises the AWD-RWD transfer speed. Like many others here, I don't know the EXACT speed at which the ECU tells the TCU to make a RWD powertrain. Again, from what I remember, this number is 19mph. In snow mode, you will maintain the AWD start for higher speeds than if the button was not depressed. The transmission will still be RWD biased and will revert to a RWD, just a little later on.

What you are describing sounds like the AWD lock button used on the Murano's AWD system. My wife's Murano has a AWD lock button on the console that locks the AWD system to about 6 mph. I believe that the snow button limits the throttle input only.

I looked it up in the owners manual, and the manual says that the snow button controls engine output to limit wheelspin. http://www.infinitiusa.com/pdf/techpubs/fx/2008/2008-Infiniti-FX4535.pdf. Mystery solved.:good:

Now what about there being no "snow flake" light appearing on the instrument panel when you turn the snow mode on? I have a indicator light that comes on on the switch but thats it? What about you other +09 FX50 owners?

Same. Sport mode shows on the instrument panel, but not the snow mode. I remember reading somewhere that it does not show on the instrument panel because of the light on the button.
 
As we dont get much snow, if ever, here in ATL, my son took my FX50S to Snowshoe in West Virginia, 6 inches of new snow. I asked him to try the "Snow Mode" button and he said it didnt do anything regarding throttle response or shift points? He has driven my '03 FX and 08 EX and knows the snow buttons response from those experiences. Any other 2009+ FX'ers have any experience with their snow button?
 
I don't notice a difference either, but I also haven't slammed on the gas when there is a ton of snow to find out.
 
VDC I definitely do notice, just not the snow as of yet.

Wait....I did once slam on the gas in the snow, then smelled my brakes like crazy...thought I had a problem, but then realized that my VDC was braking and I was burning my pads down pushing heavy on the gas, but not moving much lol.
