2nd Gen FX coilovers now available through XYZ Suspension of America

There are only a few manufacturers in Taiwan that produces suspension parts. Most brands are produced by these few companies. Brands like BC, Megan (same manufacturer for APEXi suspensions in the past), KSport, STD, and other brands are all just made by a few factories. Some of them actually have excellent production quality and QC standards. I can't speak for the ones I don't have experiences with. But overall, Taiwanese suspension components are reliable and good quality.

As far as H&R goes, they'll have the springs ready before the 3rdGen FX comes out.

Compared to who/what brand? I wouldn't say they are on par with H&R or Bilstein. I have only had Aragosta Coilovers myself, this was years ago and they were uber expensive (not sure why really lol), maybe because companies like Top Secret used their stuff.

A great spring/strut combo will beat low end coilovers any given day.:wink (2):

If they don't address the toe in and camber issues then coils will just be a good reason to get new tires every 25K miles.... I want coils and all, but if the camber is a bit off on a 1" drop with the eibachs then I can only imagine what coils will bring about... I'm not into replacing tires at $800+ a pop every two years.

So I would scratch that eBay seller off the list for now...he can't even provide me with pictures of the Actual 09+ FX35/50 coilovers he claims to be selling.

Look's like its between that SUV site (which has the same area code as the XYZ HQ which is interesting..)
or buying direct....hopefully a group buy happens. I'll call again today.

It's probably the same outfit. SUVDressUp also has an ebay store. I am guessing it's the same person/people/family. Actually the websites are similar, probably registered to the same individual.

You are right you need at the very least a picture of the actual product. I like your idea of them shipping 1 set to their USA HQ so that you can inspect it in person.

There is nothing wrong with a home business...
Here is their USA HQ, which is why he probably doesn't want you to stop by:

Yeah I really just want a picture or the ability to "see" the actual product first...

:smug: I have a feeling its all in the same family too......and they are just a US "HQ/vendor" for XYZ.......
I checked google maps and its a home! wow........... they have some explaining to do haha...........

LOL, yeah I checked google and didn't want to post an actual pic of his house. Which is why I chose Zillow as they have a generic pic lol.

I told Jonathan "No wonder he doesn't do installs or wants anyone to stop by to check out XYZ USA HQ, it's his house...I wouldn't want anyone stopping by I didn't know if it were my house"

Plus in Texas every household has some firearm protection equipment hahahaha.

This rang a bell when I was reviewing the products available at Buzz Factory in Japan..... http://buzz-factory.net/custom/bs1_fx35.html

they list An 'option' of "F-CUP Arogosuta (Aragosta)" suspension available for roughly $3300USD, while the other coilovers are $3200USD. There are also $600 pillow ball cushions.

I tried emailing them to ask which brand the non-aragosta coil-overs are but got no response. Either way, they are 3x the price of the 'XYZ'.
I still find it weird that none of XYZ's "sister companies" have coilovers for the FX listed still.....
Im sending XYZ another email and waiting to hear back from Buzz Factory on the brand of the 'other' coilovers and what exactly "F CUP" means ont he Aragosta suspension... Also I find no results when searching for "Aragosta FX35 Fx50 coilovers" so I am sending them an email as well to see.

I really want coilovers and the search kind of got revamped...

:tup::tup::tup:

here's an interesting read on k-sport, it would be nice to have a fully updated section
http://forums.nicoclub.com/k-sport-coilovers-are-crap-t295960.html
Apparently they used to be horrible but they have gotten way way way better.

and this is an interesting read on exactly how coilovers work in general...

-----------------------------
K-sport description:
General Description:
Ksport Kontrol Pro Fully Adjustable Coilover Kits provide the ultimate in suspension technology for your street or track car. 36 levels of dampening adjustment allow you to fine tune the ride to your handling and comfort needs. The dampening adjusts compression and rebound simultaneously for ease of adjustment. Pillow ball top mounts in the front and rear on some applications allow you to maintain vehicle manufacturer suspension geometry design. The pillow ball top mounts also allow you a more direct feel for solid driver response. Camber adjustability is included on pillow ball top mounts that allow it for the ability to adjust camber from the actual coilover, instead of a separate camber kit.

Most applications utilize an adjustable lower mount, which means you adjust height without losing suspension travel like some other coilover designs do. With the mounts and most pieces of the coilover being designed for 6061 billet aluminum the kit is lightweight, durable, and rust resistant. The steel shock body is electroplated with zinc to resist rust and the elements. The valving of each set is matched to the springs installed for unmatched ride quality and reliability.

The Ksport system uses a Monotube design in which the oil and gas are separated within the cylinder. When compared to twin tube designs the Monotube dissipates heat better, allows finer dampening adjustments, and requires more expensive design process. Aeration and cavatation are a lot less common in a Monotube design, which results in a better ride.

The Ksport Kontrol Pro Coilover kit has been designed with professional road racing in mind offering extremely high value and performance.

Key Features:

36-way adjustable dampening
Made from high quality 6061 Aluminum with T6 for increased hardness Compression/Rebound adjustable
Adjustable spring perch for height adjustment
Adjustable body allowing maximum suspension travel
Pillow Ball Top Mount w/ adjustable camber (on select models)
Monotube High Pressure Design reduces oil leakage
Electroplated body for protection from corrosion and rust
18 Month Limited Warranty

the site has the same list as XYZ

These actually been on eBay for a few weeks now. When you gonna pull the trigger on em ?

Only reason I didnt know was because I wasn't looking, haha.

I'm not sure when I'll pull the trigger, I go back to school in 4 weeks so we'll see.
Money sucked this summer because I had an unpaid internship for 3 days every week.
Hopefully somebody buys my wheels within the next month haha:tup:

I hear ya. Selling the gtr's still right ? I'd love to buy them but don't have the extra $ at the moment. I hate rocking the stock 18's for the winter.

Yessir at which I think is a reasonable price to be honest. I may lower them a bit just to sell but they are already at a good price. I'm not sure if I am going to get winter wheels or tough this winter out with the 21's (that need refinishing anwyay)

this right here is a very good link that jb provided: http://farnorthracing.com/autocross_secrets6.html

guy really knows his stuff & the conclusions he comes to is about the same as what I found when I was doing a ton of research on shocks, which is why I built my coilovers starting with a pair of koni yellow dual adjustable touring carts... bilstiens were not an option that I could source correctly for the application so koni's were next best, it's amazing how much garbage there is out there though which is why I've always been very skeptical of a cheap set of coilovers...

here's another link from the same guy: http://farnorthracing.com/autocross_secrets18.html

man, I wish I could have went with a set of penske's but were talking very high dollar pro stuff there, way more than needed on a street car for sure... can easily wind up spending over $5k to build a set of coilovers based on Penske's & there def a bit overkill...

problem is, no one is going to build a really good set of coilovers for an fx, just never going to be much market for a $3K coilover kit on a car like this, so in the end were pretty much stuck with mediocre at best, & even that might be a little bit of wishful thinking tbh :)

only way to get a high end set of coilovers on an fx is to custom build them, not something most can do really... hopefully the coilovers your looking at are pretty decent at least...

exactly. This si why i want to see what brand Buzz Factory is using, because They cost ~$3000 and claim that one set, for $3300 is Aragosta ( a pretty decent company)
If I had the money or the resources (or time) I would build a custom set for sure. Hell, I would build a few and sell them! (maybe some side work for you john?)

------
I'm surprised I haven't gotten a response from Buzz Factory, XYZ, or Ksport yet. You would think people emailing companies talking about being able to get 10+ sets of coilovers sold (emailed Buzz factory, XYZ, and Ksport) they would answer your emails... XYZ and Buzz have been 2 days and Ksport has been less than 24hours. But still......
I'll see if they get back to me today.

Ksport was open for a group buy but it wouldnt be saving much money.... I may pick up a set...we'll see.
