Jbaker1121's FX50 updates and photo thread

I like the GTRs on the 2G, but the poke in the rear bothers me a bit.. Definitely better than stock.. you decided you're keeping them?

If you do coils or springs, the neg camber might actually tuck them in a bit and end up flush..

Is it just me or is the 50 smaller than the FX? What has been seen...
it's the same size "fast ride"

keeping them until I can get decent money for them or I decide to get rid of them. Only actual interests I am getting are without tires and not exactly what I want for them, so may as well get some use out of them.
If I lower it they will tuck in the back and look good

lowered with the GTR;s would lookk tooo dope

GTRs are being sold saturday, time to pick out new wheels!

thinking of Forgestar F14 22" deep concave

pwis2501.jpg

(these are not the deep concave)
http://www.forgestar.com/blog/?p=1571

Sizes avail for 22" are
Front (semi concave)
22x8.5 offsets from +12 to +51
22x9.0 offsets from +18 to +57
22x10 offsets from +31 to 70

Rear (deep concave)
22x10.5 offsets from +10 to +49
22x12 offsets from +29 to +68

I would like the to be aggressive, like the GTRs are...the GTRs are 20x10.5 rear +25; front is 10x9.5 +45

So I was thinking of these sizes:

front: 22x10+45 semi-concave
Rear:22x12 +25 deep-concave

How do you guys think these will sit? Will the additional 1.5" in the rear with the same offset make it stick out 1.5" more than the GTR does?

I'll be working on a pshop

The wheel will stick out .75" more than the GTR wheel. It's 1.5" wider, but that's on both sides of the wheel so .75" more on the outside and .75" more than the inside. It's more than if you ran a 15mm spacer on your GTR wheels. So if you're already poking slightly, you'd better be prepared to roll the fenders and run some camber. If you drop it, it would look good. If you retain the OEM height, it will look horrible.

just heard back, they recommended 22"x10" +35 on all 4 corners, they stated forgestar had this set on another FX and it sat flush. Maybe I will do 22"x10" +25 so it's just as aggressive as the GTRs? or maybe +25 rear +35 front

I contacted them for pictures on the FX to see how they look.

Be careful with getting 10.5's in the front, I'm pretty sure those are gonna rub if you go to make a full turn U turn...

My F14's: 265-40-22 22x9 + 30

This is flush at the front and needs about 10mm to be perfectly flush at the rear; about 1.5" further out at the rear from oem.

a photoshop, artirius did the original but I darkened the rims a little bit

fx50s_forgestarf14_gunmetal.jpg

I think it looks :wink:great

I'm trying to decide what to do for tires, since my GTR rears have a 295/35R20 and they are 20x10.5\

since these will be 22x10.5, I need to figure out the tires....

so I have done nothing to my FX since the muffler thing...I may be putting a muffler back on and doing electric cutouts.

Also, for some reason my wheels are pitting around the centercaps (crappy quick touchup job from the dealer's guy before I took delivery of the car?) so I am thinking of getting them redone in a light gunmetal color much like the IPL wheels....

also going to dark tint my hatch light and do a light tint on the tail lights (still red)

getting quotes today from a place near my school that does pretty good work at a reasonable price.

I still need to get my fx50 video on youtube...

I want to do the around-view-camera mod thingy so I can use it on the go... among a few other small things

I've been so busy with school and choosing a law school that my car hobby has really been on hold....but some things may happen very soon. :smile (2):

What's the deal with the muffler? why don't you like it, what happened?

Well I have no muffler...just did a delete and have straight pipes from the resonator.
I got sick of the sound, it sounds nice but it actually drones a tiny bit too much at low low RPMS so if I'm just cruising in D or DS it tends to be droney since it tries to stay in low RPMs. after 1800 it sounds nice but city driving, for example, is kind of droney. It sounds nice, I just want a different sound.
I may do an aftermarket exhaust and also have cutouts so I can have fun at higher speeds and can make it loud when I want it to be, but otherwise have a nice tuned tone to it from the actual exhaust....
