Taking apart taillights..

Ok so apparently the taillights arent glued the plastics fused together. I didnt even bother checking so i threw em in the oven and after 5 min took em out and noticed it wasnt working. But heating them up did help seperate the actual "weld" i went around it slowly and tried spliting it baked em another 5 min and was able to take em apart. Unfortunatly with the second one i only baked em once and tried right off the bat to take em apart .. it cracked!!!! So getting a new one tomm and trying again. And baking them wont put it back together have to actually seal it. Anyone else try this? It turned out to be a bigger mission. I want to actually paint the inside not the lenses. Was also thinking of using my dremel to cut around to take it off.
 
Turbocad6 did I believe. Glad to hear you suceeded at least partially. A couple ppl tried this and failed. Congrats
 
mission so far failed! I bought another lamp baked it 5 min and warped the whole thing lol epic fail.... so i bought a new set and left them alone haha maybe if i find a set somewhere ill attempt again i do get a good discount @ local dealer (actually used to be an INF tech few years back before i ran parts dept) so im lucky with that. But hey still got the one side done now im getting a bit iffy to attempt the headlights though.

well the headlights actually come apart, not like the tails that arent "meant" to come apart.

Marek has done this, but I have no idea how. I know it takes a lot of work and time.
