P0507 Service Engine Soon Light 30 miles after throttle body cleaning, strange.

So strange enough I get a CEL this morning. Car appears to drive normal and idle normal
I took it in to Autozone to get the CEL read
They said it was P0507 relating to throttle body :mad.:

I had just cleaned the MAF and Throttle body on Monday
I did not reset the ECU afterwards, I tried the technique posted on this forum and can not get to the step that has the CEL blink, just does not work no matter how many times I try
What is weird is that I drove at least 30-40 miles since cleaning on Monday with no lights on.

Any ideas? I saw a post that I might need to retrain the throttle, whats this all about?

Ok I am read through some post and found it common after cleaning TB that this code flashes, wheewww I feel a bit better.
I am going to try the accelerator pedal released position learning
Do I need to reset the ECU before I do this or after ?

I went through resetting the ECU again, I think I did at least the Service Engine Soon went away. I went through Perform "Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning"
and Perform "Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning"
The car idles below 1K just in park again. I hope that I did everything right and the SES light does not reappear. Guess I will find out my ride home.

I heard something but not sure what it was. between turning the keys over and over and sound the car makes in on, how could you ever tell? lol

Well no Lights or weird thing:cool: on the drive home hopefulley stays that way

So an update. The SES light has not returned, driven over 50 miles. I did notice some things that are making me curios

1) between 5-15 mph I notice a spring noise when accelerating not necessarily at WOT but just pedal half way down.

2) seems like the car is not accelerating as fast as it was just after the throttle body cleaning (ie throttle was more responsive). Could it be that I need to retrain and reset ecu?

3) When I reset the the ecu should the mpg estimates. oil change due prompts clear ?
Basically how do I know the ecu has actually reset ?

So the Service Engine Soon came back on after 90 or so miles. I just reset the ECU using the pedal dance method and SES is gone. I will try resetting the other 3 items later today at lunch, maybe I didn't do them right the first time around.
Little frustrating, almost wish I dint touch the throttle body, lol

That's the ABS doing some self check test. It activates at 15mph. It does that after you start the car every time, so it's completely normal. Good luck on the rest!

Note that the ABS self check only happens once, the first time you start to drive away after starting the car. If it happens every time you accelerate, its something else.

If your radio preset stations are gone, the ECU has been reset. I usually just unplug the battery overnight - that does it every time.

Cleaning the TB is a very delicate operation - they are very easy to damage. You should not put any pressure at all on the throttle plate - never move the plate manually.

I reset the ECU and cleared the SES light this morning before going into work
At Lunch I did the following in order

Accelerator Pedal Release Position Learning
Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning
Drove car for 10-15 minutes and made sure its proper operating temp
Performed: Idle Air Volume Learning (Throttle Position Learning)
Then I reset the ECU again

Before RPM's at idle where around 1k
Now the RPM's are around 500 or slightly below after doing the following steps.

I also confirmed I only hear the spring sound between 0-15 mph on first drive.
I am guessing I did the steps right this time, hopefully takes care of my issue
Can anyone confirm proper RPM's at idle after warm up ? (No mods on car but drop in K&N)

Drove 75 miles no SES lights
Replaced stock pipe with Stillen Ztube and reset ECU by unplugging neg power all night.
Went for a spin and came back, idle rpm after warm is still at the second line after 0 which I believe is 500. From what I read on the forums it should be 650 is that right ?
No SES lights yet so I am guess this is ok?

Took the car into the dealership for dash bubbling repair
I asked them to look at the idle RPM. Just so I don't get swindled can someone tell me what the 1st and 2st marks after the 0 on the rpm represent ? Its weird but there are more marks from 1000 rpm to 2000 rpm then there are from 0 to 1000

This isn't my car but you can see 2 marks from 0 to 1 and 3 marks from 1 to 2. Makes half way more distinguishable.

Well the dealership called and said my Idle was within range. I am guessing now the first mark is 250 and the second is 750 as my needle is hoovering over the last mark before 1000 RPM
