21X10.5 wheels what offset would I need to sit flush?
All 4 will be 10.5 but might use different offsets for staggered appearance?

my 22x10 is running at 30mm offset. It looks pretty flush, IMO. Mine is with 3" lip at the front and 4" lip at the rear However, you want more flushy look with stagger setup. Go with lower offset at the rear. For my setup, i think the rear can be extended a bit more. However, that's a personal point of view.

I remembered i did a measurement of the rear to be flush with oem 20's before I got my summer wheels. It needs around 2.5~3 cm to be perfectly flush. Since your rim width is more, you have to make sure that your inner tire side wall does not touch the strut housing. My winter setup with the oem 20's with 15mm spacer at the rear is really flush. However, my rear knuckles have been replaced with the FX50s knuckles for the rear Akebono BBK mod, so I cannot provide a precise measurement for you. Sorry bro, can't help much

I also plan on doing the FX50 rear brakes I already have the fronts

In that case, the oem 20s with 15mm spacer at the rear is really flush. I will take a picture of both the front and rear with oem 20's and post them tmr for your references. Then you can use the IS calculator to find out how much offset you need. :smile (2):

PS. I put the spacer at the rear just for consistence with the front.

Front should be ~33mm offset - I was at +43 myself.
Rear should be ~ 28mm offset - I was at +28 myself and they are flush with 295s.

This is based on my running 10.5 all the way around. Best of luck!

really? mine were a few mm from flush with 20mm spacers..... 25 in the back is like perfect flush with the top of the fender

I'm running 25mm all around on OEM 20's and it was relatively flush with the fenders. It was still slightly tucked in. Now with BC coilovers on the past few days, I notice the slight tuck even more now. I guess if I really wanted to be OCD about it, it could use 30mm spacers, lol.

Nice, it'll be slightly stretched but safe! I'm jealous! Work wheels are nice!

Since running a slight stretch you might be able to push the offsets out some more.

Thanks bro
these are the wheels Work Schwert SC1 21X10.5 matte black face gloss black step lip

rears I would say 25-30mm fronts maybe 35-40....
.
Thanks bro, I guess the rear would be similar to your GTR rims ?

I don't mean to thread jack but i'm still trying to figure out the best added outer edge offset for the tires to be flush without rubbing or fender rolling.
i can get a great deal on 22''x9 with a +15 offset on 265's all around which would give a 38mm extend. Would that be good or too flush in the front?
thanks in advance

Thanks hopefully I will have them soon I was told 2 to 3 months, maybe for the spring cruise
Sweet :smile (2):

If I haven't mentioned to you, here is a bit of Info for the Spring Cruise

"Saturday May 28th 2011
Starting Point : AMC Oakville (QEW and Winston Churchill
End Point : Cayuga"

The actual course is still being laid out, but it will be a course that is friendly to slammed vehicles. I will post all the Specifics in the GTAFX section when they are finalized.

man, trying to say what exactly is the perfect offset is really difficult, it depends a whole lot on the vehicle height as well as what you perceive as "flush"...

personally, I'd say the gtr wheel fitment is about as extreme as you'd want to go, I mean without it being lowered much it kinda boarders on sticking out to much, & even lowered it requires rolling the lips which is probably about as much as you could go really so I'd say start there as a base for your measurements bro... nice looking wheels :)

Thanks bro, I really just want to clear my brakes and sit "flush" as in not sunken in colse to the edge will be fine to me . Idealy I want coilovers but my son like to eat so and have diapers so that might not happpen for awhile.

Im sure the wheel shop will know what to get howerver Id like to have an idea so if they say we ordered XX offset Ill know if its gonna look they way I want.

Offset really confuses me:embarrassed:

ok, a quick lesson for you in offset for you to try & see it more clearly...

picture an 8" wide wheel. now picture the wheel mounting surface, where it mounts to the hub. picture this wheel mounting surface as being dead center on this 8" rim, this would be whats called 0 offset, there is no offset, it's dead center.

now take this 8" wheel with 0 offset & move the whole wheel out one inch... at this point the wheel mounting surface will not be dead center anymore with 4" in & 4" out, instead it will now have 3" on the inside & 5" on the outside, this is what would be called a -25mm offset. it's 25mm LESS than centered, which give you the - offset#... if you moved it in 1" instead of out, then it would have 3" outside & 5" inside... this would be called a +25mm offset, it's now sitting 25mm in more than what would be dead center.... that's offset in a nutshell, it's the amount the wheel is "offset" from dead center...

this is why a 8" wheel with a +25mm offset will not sit the same as a 10" wheel with +25mm offset. the 8" wheel with +25mm offset will have 5" inside & 3" out, where a 10" wheel with +25mm offset would have 6" inside & 4" out, both have +25mm offset but the 10" wheel still sticks out an inch more than the 8" wheel with the exact same offset, to get a 10" wheel to sit at exactly the same outside spot that the 8" sits with +25mm offset, the 10" wheel would need a +50 offset, this will give you the same exact amount of "stickout" because it will result in the same 3" on the outside...+ offset means it's in MORE THAN centered & - offset means it's not even in enough to be centered, - is less than centered... adding 25mm offset is moving the whole wheel in 1"... hope this helps you see it a little more clearly & if theres anything you don't get or need clarified lmk :)
