Tint Help Please

Post a pic of the burn. It's all relative. If it's bad enough and noticeable enough, I would want the panel replaced. Sorry you have to deal with this bs.

the tint is still settling. my installer wants me to bring it back in a week or two so he can re-inspect and smooth out anything that should require it, he is very thorough.

i will snap some pix of the burned areas later tonight. i showed a couple people and they all said it should be okay. my repair guy would probably turn the repair down if he could not do a good job, only thing is he cannot get the texture but i guess it isn't a big deal if the area is small enough.

ill post pix though and u guys can let me know what you think.

Pics yet?

Sent from my iPhone

ya i did take them actually. just have to get them off my phone and onto the computer, prob later today.

i had the repairs done and my guy did a really good job. i dont think someone would be able to tell it was damaged. he said to let it cure and dry for 24 hours. i will probably get him to come back and touch it up again once it is all dried up.

i will post the damaged pix soon and take some after pix.

all i can say is that shop is damn lucky the repair went smoothly or i'd be asking for new door panels.

Do you like your tint job from the proffessional and damn your touch up guy is good hope you are happy

im happy with the tint so far, it is still settling, only been about 3 days. he wants me to bring it back in on saturday so he can re-inspect the tint and make some adjustments.

ya my touch up guy is pretty amazing. i had a insurance claim involving broken glass and damage plastic interior pieces and nicks to my leather. he fixed up the plastic and refinished the leather also.

he does a lot of work for dealerships fixing up damage to new vehicles. the new buyers have no idea.

Sounds like crappy job. Make them redo or refund

guessing you didn't read everything but basically i had them remove the tint and i had it re-done.

The work is amazing but I can't believe how much damage the tint guys caused. I would have been so furious. That is just ridiculous and the installer expected you to be ok with it or not notice????? Wow

ya he really does amazing work. he charged 150 for that repair, the shop did admit fault and cover the cost, probably afraid i would ask for new door panels.

i was super furious. i know accidents happen but they never even told me. i went home and inspected the car and realized the damage. went back in the morning and the owner immediately acknowledged it and once i got a quote from my repair guy he gave me the 150 for it. during all this i totally overlooked the tint and realized it was total shit... they should have done the tint right and they should have said look we damaged your car find out the cost to repair and we will cover it. i literally had to make them do everything. my tint should have been done right, and because of the heat gun damage they should have refunded my tint money asap, not days later when they couldn't get the tint right.

oh well you live and you learn i guess. i was worried about the repair and thinking if i should push for new door panels but i am okay with the repair. and it will look even better once my guy touches it up again next week.

You know what amazes me? One of the most simplest mods anyone can ever do to a car, and something that has been done for decades has turned into nothing but a horror story.

I'm glad you got everything sorted out bro!

That tint shop needs to go drop dead.

that is the exact reason i did not check out my car super thorough once it was done or wait at the shop and watch them. the guy ahead of me had a blacked out murdered 911, super nice car, anyways he sat in a chair watching them the whole time. i went down to the pub and grabbed a burger. i figured 911 dude was just paranoid cause its a porsche. i've had tint jobs done so many times and never a hiccup before so i under estimated these schmucks.

Wow sorry to see that. Man they burned your panels up. The repair looks really good though. We have the same interior color but your looks lighter for some reason in the pics.

ya it was complete total lack or care on their part. even the most amateur tinter prob would not burn the door panels. prob screw up the tint itself but thats it.

i did actually have the autoflash set on my 9780 so i think it did go off. my door panels are usually darker looking, a dark brown.

The repair isn't even noticeable. You found a good repair guy The original shop lucked out too. It seems strange to me how you could mess up such a simple procedure.

even funnier thing is they say they tint lambos, bentleys etc... they have pix up on there wall tinting all sorts of cars, low to high end. they do have the pix of bentleys, lambos, vettes etc.... and i did see a 911 ahead of me. i wonder what those guys think of their tint...

among local tint shops this shop is considered "bad" apparently, yet they are still in business.

the repair should be fully cured now so ill check it out later and next week should be fuly complete w/touch ups for a even better repair.

anyone else have input on the repair so far? would most of u just accept the repair and leave it at that?

im still pretty pissed just for the fact that they caused damage...
