Has anyone here ever twin turbo the FX50S?

You can always go custom.. i wouldn't just throw a turbo on the FX and call it a day.. you gonna need alot of supporting mods to go along with the setup. 1st thing i would do is find out what the CR is and what the block can with stand before reaching a breaking point. this project will run you a pretty penny since right now there is nothing out there as far as FI goes for the FX50.

IMO i would ratter see a twin S/C FX50 kit instead of a turbo setup..

Definitely going to be custom - no 2nd generation FX turbo "kits" exist at all.

HKS makes a kit for the motor inside the FX50, but things like the exhaust manifold, turbo manifold, intercooler piping, mounting... all will need to be fitted and customized for the FX50.

You could start with a Jim Wolf Technologies TT kit for the first gen and then have piping fabricated to fit the second gen?

What Logan said stands - find a speed shop with a good reputation and talk to them about what you want. They can give you a ballpark estimate and I'm guessing it will be somewhere between $12K and $18K. You can always spend more.

If he finds a good fabricator, piping and manifolds should be a piece of cake.. try looking around i know of a shop in Conn. thats can wield just about anything.. peep game.

Someone needs to turbo/FI a FX50 just to shut all the X5M/X6M/Cayenne Turbo people up.
gonna be kinda hard to shut down the comp..lol.. these come off the dealer floor HARD..

I'd prefer the S/C route in the FX50S, the tranny already has enough lag and searches too darn much...don't need turbo lag to add to the mix. I'd be curious to price out a solid S/C package, seems a bit cleaner than the turbo route.

I have not seen anyone with a kit for the VK50. I have gotten guesstimates/quotes from shops and they all say the tranny will need to be built up past 500hp on the FX50. That, plus let's say a twin turbo setup that will be custom. Quotes were $15(turbo kit, tuning, some motor work,no trans work)-30k(turbos motor and trans).

it's cool to mod up cars but you can buy so many other cars that will make so much more power more efficiently for the $15-30k you'd have to spend to get a safe ~550-600hp.

Is it worth it? 16 year old me says yes. 27 year old me says keep the FX50 as is (in my case, custom exhaust and tuning already running 13.6s) and get a car on the side to be the all-out tuner car...

it's your car and your money, do what you want. Most of the support for the FX50 is bodykit based and basically nothing for performance.

Good luck!
