New Fog Light for my 2006 FX35

Yes HID fog lights are illegal since it's not DOT compliant. And so are LED liscence plate lights. But only the super blue ones. As long as you get white you should be good. Just don't get ugly blue

Alright thanks man!

the foglights changed to h8 bulb size in 2006-2008 FYI

Yeah I know, those are the only sizes I've run into actually so I bought the right one. Thanks!

I did my hid kit in my fogs without removing the bumper. Mounted and everything. When i loosened the screws the whole assembly comes right out. I guess everyones different. I dont see it logical to pull an entire bumper off to put in 2 bulbs.

So you're saying that even though I need the housing needs to be replaced (glass shattered) I can just pull it out and replace it by removing a couple screws?

Yes, the housing is wedged into the socket for the foglight and held on by one screw only. It's a pretty tight fit in there. I remember getting my set of the H8 foglights on eBay for $119 shipped. They are non-OEM, but had the glass lens and was a perfect fit.

Sounds too easy to be true haha, but is there a guide to show where to access the screws for this replacement without bumper removal?

It really depends on which side. If it's the passenger side, the washer fluid reservoir is in the way, making it close to impossible to change. The driver side is very hard to get to as well, but its doable if you lift your car up on ramps making it easier to access. I also have a Fujita intake and took all of the OEM stock air box, resonators, etc. out so I have this huge, open area to work with. I don't remember if the intake parts got in that way of that fog light or not. The screw should be at the 12 o'clock position.

Yeah mine is the right (passenger) side, Soooo if it's close to impossible... No can do lol I'm still a noob.

Put your fx on ramps. Remove the splash guard and stick your head in there and you will see how easy it is.
Nothing to get nervous about. It's all plug and play. Learning curve for you.

GUESS WHAT GUYS??

I fixed the fog light!
and I used the splash guard removal method! Too easy! It took me almost 30 minutes.. I think I rushed because I had to get to work lol sorry it took too long for me to post it- I'm just excited now.

Thanks guys for all your help.

If any person is wondering, the only tools I used were a screw driver, a flat head screw (to remove clips), and a small screw driver to remove the fog light housing since the reservoir is in the way.

In all honesty, the whole task would've been A LOT easier if I had removed the wheel, I just didn't remove the wheel because I didn't have a torque wrench and I know you have to set it to 80 lbs/ft. although my setting is 85.

Anyway, there are three clips to remove, two screws to remove on the outside, and about four on the bottom of the car. Once you're done with that, remove the splash guard then you can stick your head under there.

*BTW: I used two jack stands to lift the car.. I'm not sure if that's safe. They're both new Craftsman jacks.*

To remove the housing, just twist the bulb out of the housing, then there will be a screw at the 1 o'clock position, it's a pretty long screw. Once removed, there is a clip that you pull down (at the 6 o' clock position). It was hard for me, so I used a flat head screw, then I PUSHED THE HOUSING OUT.

I, then, got my new housing + bulb and did everything backwards.. except the bulb was already in there, so I didn't need to wait to put it in.

The toughest part of the job were the three clips.. because they sometimes cracked which made me angry lol oh and the fact that the tire was in the way so I had to really stick my head in there to see the housing. (that's what she said.)

So basically, you don't actually need to remove the bumper.. saved me a lot of time.
Thanks again, guys!

By the way, you guys should check out CupCake Meet. If y'all haven't already?
*Mainly aiming to the people who live in Houston, AUSTIN, or Dallas, TX*

I would like to see more FX35s come to the meets. The president is cute if y'all were wondering.
