Hi,

Just wondering how many of you that have strut bars installed actually lifted the front end of the car to install the strut bar. Thanks

I've read that to properly install a strut bar its best to raise the front end to release the tension first. None of you guys did that?

I asked the same question once upon a time.

The particular strut bar design would need be be specific to a pre-load. Unless the strut bar you buy have install instructions that specifically says to lift the car, there is no need.

If you pre-load a bar that was not intended to work that way, you turn it into a spring, putting forces on the strut towers that would not necessarily be a good thing for handling.

Thanks for the answer jumbo, this was exactly the answer i was looking for. Just wanted to confirm with someone on here. My ques is in regards to the GTspec strut bar. Thanks again.
