What Up People,
Just got in the mail a letter offering me the 2011 Map Update for $149. For those who have it, do you enjoy it? Would you say that it is worth the price? And should i get it? I have the map that came with the 2009 fx and it works fine for me. but i do notice that some locations that i input are not recognized by the computer. What do you guys think.

^ can you scan it and post it on here; just curious what it looks like and if it came from the dealer or Nissan corp.

I wish there was an update to make the nav look like the 2010 nav :( A lot of updates were on the 2010, looks, feels a lot different and easier to navigate artists, etc.

I asked my friend that works at the dealer and he told me the update is worth it. He said they have only added some new streets to it, but nothing worth the money it costs. What they need to do is a damn firmware update!

We won't be able to get the look of the 2010-2011 models because we lack the hardware for it like the USB port and Bluetooth streaming audio technology.

I'd also be interested in more info about this update.

Sometimes I wish it just used Google Maps or Earth and updated over XM. Google and MSN's traffic services are so much better than XM Nav.

I am in real estate and go to about 10 to 15 houses a day. I had the update done yesterday and the first house I put in still did not come up. It was six years old. On top of the $149 plus tax I had to pay $125 bucks to get it installed. Hopefully it will be worth it.

Map updates for DVD-based navs can easily be downloaded through a torrent application and burned to DVD. I did this for my '06 and got '08 maps for free. Good deal.

Yes, but that doesn't apply to us 2nd gen's. Our navi systems are hard drive based. You update it via the compact flash port or through the computer.

I have a 2011 and when I go to the map update screen it asks me to insert the update dvd. Is this different from the 2009-10?

I think 2010+ lets u use DVD to update. No need for dealer. My friend updated G37 2010 nav this way. He said maps still old on it :-) no new rods on it.

I know I am really suprised by the amount of missing roads on the new maps. My Lexus nav system is not quite as visually pleasing as the Infiniti interface but the maps are way better. I do have to say that the routs planned by the Infiniti system are better than the "Granny routes my Lexus plans" I swear if there is a freeway anywhere around the Lexus system puts you on it no matter how far it is out of the way.
