I think my dealer used the wrong fluid in my transmission

Yeah they all do. I know its covered under warranty, but it's not like I"ll have this warranty forever. Eventually my warranty will be up. Then it'll be too late and the dealer won't care anymore. I'm worried about how this BG transmission fluid might effect the transmission in the long run.

I'm surprised corporate doesn't know about this. I wonder if they would shit themselves knowing dealers are profiting from using aftermarket stuff instead of OEM. The only reason they use this BG stuff is to profit from it because they buy this stuff in bulk. Even the warranty booklet that came with my car says using anything other than Nissan Matic S transmission fluid will cause deterioration to the transmission and drivability. I just don't want to play with fire and take that risk.


I know $11 a quart for Matic S fluid is expensive and I need like 15 quarts of it, but I'd rather pay another $100 and sleep better at night.

No, I totally agree with you. I would only use Matic S myself.
 
How much is the dealer charging you for a quart of that? I see a case of 12 quarts on eBay for $90 which is really cheap!
 
I bought my j on eBay a year ago. Stole it for $35- shipped. Got 13 unopened qrts. Good deals can be found sometimes

They quoted me something like $10.70/qt and will probably around 14 quarts.
That price is pretty good but what's the shipping cost?

That is a dam steal. Can't find something like that these days especially when you need it, lol.
 
Now you have me worried. I just had my trans fluids changed. The dealer did the 30K and I guess they did not like the trans fluid and replaced it. I did inform them I do a lot of towing.

Now, it sometimes shifts vary harsh under acceleration. It has only happen a few times. I just did a mountain road trip and it did occur twice while down shifting to get up the hill and it had never shifted like that before.

Wow 30K already on your 2010? How many cross country trips have you done?:tonguey::tonguey:

What kind of fluid does it say they used on the invoice? It should say it on there. And how much did you pay. If you spent almost $300 something on the fluid that means they did use Matic S fluid like their suppose to.

Just dropped the car off at the dealer this morning. Their going to flush out all that BG crap and refill with Matic S fluid. I'm also having the oil change. I'll let you guys know how it goes when I pick it up tomorrow morning. I'd pick it up today, but I have no time.
 
Picked my car up at 7 this morning. Paid out of the ass for this Matic S fluid, but it was worth it. They took off the labor as an offer to correct their mistake, and I am now a happy guy =D


I probably won't be changing this transmission oil for another 60,000 miles.
