Well I got to pay the $100 price difference it would of been so let's hope
. I got a loaner car reserved for Wed. morning when I take it in. I'm also just going to have the motor oil changed while I'm at it.
i said to myself (reading few sentences of your first post) this guy is in legal practice, the way you construct your sentences and insight.. What kind of attorney ? if you dont mind
I hope they don't spit in your tranny![]()
I just got off the phone with the dealer who said their going to replace the BG fluid with the Nissan Matic S fluid. All I have to cover is the price difference it would of been. NICE props to the dealer willing to fix this issue.
I don't understand why you should have to pay anything additional. You asked for a specific service in the first place in which THEY didn't deliver on. Generally speaking people take there cars to the dealer because they want OE parts and fluids, otherwise they would take it anywhere.
Well I paid only $180, I was suppose to pay $300 instead since it costs more for the Matic S fluid. So I could see why they want me to pay the $120 difference. At least their doing something about it which I'm happy about.
They told me that using the BG fluid doesn't void the warranty on the transmission, but for some odd reason I still don't trust that. I want the OEM fluid and nothing else. If it were to screw up my transmission, I'd be left with a $11K check just for the tranny alone. I can't play with fire like that. I like things done right the first time. You guys know I'm anal about my car.
Dealers are starting to use aftermarket stuff now because they buy it in bulk. One thing I noticed is that Infiniti is false advertising in their maintenance books that come with the car. It clearly says that going to an Infiniti dealership you can always count on that they ALWAYS use genuine Infiniti parts and service, but you can clearly see that isn't the case.
I agree with you that its good that they did SOMETHING. I work at AAMCO transmissions so I know the importance of using the correct fluid on the correct car. I don't think its right that they promised you one thing and gave you another. You specifically went to Infiniti because you wanted Infiniti/Nissan fluid. If you wanted BG fluid you could have gone anywhere. I feel bad for you and your car that they did that to you, its not right.
Thanks man!
I told the dealer so many times over and over to use Matic S fluid and they guaranteed me they did. Until I looked at my invoice and found out they didn't. Next time I go in I'll have to really watch this time.
Changing the transmission fluid isn't easy on this thing either. You have to heat the tranny up to 40 degrees confirm with Consult III, and constantly filling and lowering the car, filling and lowering the car, and so on. I'm pretty sure it takes even a few hours for them.
I just hope there lack of attention doesn't cause you grief later on. Its guys like you who really care about your car so you suck it up and pay the "dealer prices" so you can insure yourself it was done right and hopefully be confident in there work and then they go and do this crap to you. Its really careless of them and they shouldn't be doing it to anyone.
I really hope so too. This oil has been in the car for about 2K miles so far. Hopefully it hasn't been in long enough to cause long term wear. Apparently you can use this BG fluid as a substitute for Nissan Matic S/J/K fluid, but I still don't find it acceptable. I pay OEM prices, I expect OEM stuff.
Hey thanks bro, I appreciate the support! Its good to see that even outside shops use OEM.
I'll report back with updates on Thursday morning when I go pick I up. I'm dropping it off Wed.
