Parada Spec-X VS Hankook Ventus ST RH06

I think too much tire. What are they, 8.0" rims?

that's the thing, i was thinking about 285/50s but now leaning more towards 275/55 to correct the speedo which already reads 3 miles over. i wouldn't mind the bigger sidewall..more like the same feeling i get when i look at zeon ltz. my only concern is the ride handling...specs say the kooks 275/55/20 can fit an 8" wheel and comes cheap also.

Why 55? if i was gna get 275 ill get 45s

You wont feel that diffrnce. Besides, smaller sidewall doesnt always equate to a worse ride. Running 35s, & I find the ride very smooth. Gets rid of the bounce you get w/a bigger tire. Pressure probably make the most change

I really hope so. But you're also in Cali and the roads are much nicer. :tongue (2): Im about to order 35 series here in the next few weeks and the thought of driving with 35 series in Chicagoland scares me. The roads are so bad here. I'm also getting BC coilovers too, so I'm thinking it will solve the ride issues.

roads are shitty in SoCal after the big rainstorm that happened few weeks back, all potholes and broken pavements. 35 series would slowly destroy your car, are cars dont sustain bumps really well, but if you notice german manufactures, such as BMW, Mercedes and Audi. They usually come with a low profile tires, coupes or Suvs. Their build to withold those harsh bumps and extra movement caused from blemished roads. But our FX's dont come with the low profile, and barely survive with 50 series. I know 35 looks much better but it eventually f*cks up your car in every possible way. Plus low profile tires are heavier than the 50 series, personal expierence.

GTO- did you run 285's on stock rims? or what was the widesy on stock?
Thanks

i was actually wondering if i put 265/50/20 in the front and 285/50/20 on the rear or 285/45/20 but finding 45's on 285 is very limited

well how about this for a change..i called my tire shop and they are charging me $151 per tire with installation and balancing included. and they will also throw in those TPMS (that i took off my 18") on my 20s for free. that's sweet.

EDIT: What am I doing!!! this is not my update thread...sorry. :frown:

Yes! I finally got new tires for my FX35! After three days of driving on the almost bald GY RSAs, that was more than enough for me. Based on all the advice on this forum, I picked up a set of these:

My quick impressions are that the ride is less jittery than before, although still very firm. The handling is noticeably improved as well, with a much quicker turn in reaction. And a one day rain storm hit LA yesterday so I a chance to test them out in the rain as well. They were very confidence inspiring. I cant wait to test them out in the snow when I go to Yosemite in a couple of weeks.

I'm sure the Parada Spec-X tires are good as well, but I got a pretty good deal on the Kooks and I am very happy with them so far. $150 each, mounted and balanced.
