I was at the Dealer today and they told me they just got a recall for all 09-11 FX35/50, 08-11 EX35 and 20011 QX56.

It was to replace both of our Daytime Running Light Bulbs which are our Fog Lights.
Apparently some of them have been burning out prematurely, so they were replaced with longer lasting bulbs.

The numbers on my Work Order for the recall were R10350 and they replaced the two bulbs with 26296-8991D Bulb

Canadian FX's have different daytime running light bulbs? Should I be bringing this up to my dealer?

No need to. We don't have daytime running lights, only Canada does. In Canada the fog lights stay on all the time and act as the daytime running lights.

In Canada it is Law, that your vehicle must be equiped with daytime running lights, which mean when your car is running there are two illuminated lights on the front of your vehicle during daylight hours. Infiniti made our fog lights our daytime running lights, so our fogs are on during the daytime and when you turn on your headlights, they go off (unless you have your foglight switch turned on, then they are on day and night)

Here is a link I found concerning our particular cars from Transport Canada. http://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/Saf-Sec-Sur/7/VRDB-BDRV/search/recalldetail.aspx?lang=eng&rn=2010383

I wish we had that here lol. I actually like the fog lights being on all the time without the need of the headlights being on. Especially when you have HID fog lights!

My dealer told me about this last week when I was there for a checkup but then they looked at my HID fogs and said " I guess this recall doesn't apply to yours " lolz

I actually got my recall notice in the mail this week from Infinit concerning the replacement of the Fog lamp bulbs (daytime running lights) with long life bulbs.

But my Dealer already replaced them when I was in for service a few weeks ago.

I never got the recall letter.

Nevertheless, one of my fogs just burnt out and I was thinking that this would be a great opportunity to get HID fogs!

Do you guys think that since the dealership has to replace them anyways (under the recall), I can actually have them replace the fogs with my own HID's (I provide them with the parts and they cover the labor charges)?

I also want to ask (even though I know it's probably written in other threads), what are the best HID's I can get for my 09 FX50 and where can I purchase them from?

Many thanks for your advice!

I doubt it very much because this is a safety orientated recall. Our fogs are our DTRL and they are being replaced by light bulbs that will last longer and meet the requirements for daytime running lights in Canada.

You're probably right on that one. Oh well, I'll still get the HID's and try anyways. If not, I'll just replace the fogs AFTER they replace the original ones. This way I'll have a set of new ones on hand in case of anything.

IT won't hurt to ask.
