So Justin, any quick review on the V3-Triton bulbs that you installed over the weekend?Very interesting. I've been looking for a good bright LED that had some dispersion. Might have to bite the bullet on something like this.
Interesting. So you're saying the Cree R3 should be safe to use?Posting one more time
This is foto of "burning" lights based on Cree Q5 (old, today they're putting R3 which gives more light and less heat).
Originally they're getting 90C in half a minute. But if you lower current (from 1A to 0.350A) it will be stable and low temp.
Tested by me at ambient temp. of 30C, this foto is about half a year old.
I wonder why chineese and JLC didn't this simple mod????
And yes, it's VERY bright and works fine as DRLs (lowering current for 70% drops light emission only for about 13%).

Yes, I'm using them by myself for 5 months. Started in summer with outside temperature of 30C.Interesting. So you're saying the Cree R3 should be safe to use?
Cool. And you mean just sockets? I don't see why you would change the bulbs. And 10th post so I can thank you :smile (2):Sure, no problem to revert back. Just swap the sockets and bulbs back. The cutting on the prongs will not affect how it is installed into the original spot.
