Nasty smell when heat is on! =[

Hey guys i have a 2005 fx35 with about 70000 miles. When i put on the heat for about 10 minutes it starts smelling really bad.If anyone has any suggestions on what i could do let me know asap .......im afraid to take out girls b/c cant put the heat on and its freezing in ny lol.Thanks.

worst case scenario, but not too likely is a heater core, but your passenger floor would be wet also. There is a product called Friggy Fresh (and there are other names also) that is made to be sprayed in the intake of your vents. You turn your heat on high with the mode set to "fresh air" as opposed to "recirc" and just spray some of that stuff through the grates at the base of the outside of the windshield near the wipers. If that doesn't take care of it then you may have a more serious issue, but its a good and cheap place to start

I havent changed my cabin air filter yet i guess ill try that this weekend ill let you guys know how it goes.By the way for the past 2 days the smell seems to be going away but ill still change my cabin air filter since i never did before. Thanks guys.

I dont know how to describe the smell.Smells like a rotten egg that got boiled lol.

I usually just tell my girlfriend to close her legs.......

lol. There was one girl (never my girlfriend) sat in the backseat of the cobra awhile ago. When she got out, smelled like rotten eggs BAD for about a week. It was horrific.

no wonder car's gonna smell if you don't change the filter at allll...i washed my car last week, i wonder why it looks so dirty today..:confused.:

i have 28k miles and i noticed that when the heat is on a burning rubber smell comes out. does this mean i should change my in cabin filter?
