I made this video when I got that G37X earlier this week. Just thought to make a video on it.

YouTube - 2011 Infiniti G37X Walkaround

My thoughts on it:

Pros:

Standard 328 HP Engine
Good interior space
Very quiet soft ride (non sport)
Excellent rear view visability
Comfortable seats
Superb handling and cornering
Good trunk space
Sexy exterior styling
Standard 7" color screen with sonar sensors and backup camera with or without Navi
Lots of standard equipment

Cons:

Interior styling and ergonomics (Still not up on par with my FX and other Infiniti's)
Jerky Transmission in stop and go traffic

Nice video.
Drove a couple of them loaners and the only thing I liked is that their faster than the fx and handle pretty decent. Not a fan of the interior either.
Shifted better than my fx.

haha it was the opposite for me on the tranny. To me my FX's 7 speed shifted better than the G37's 7 speed tranny. The dealer told me since everyone drives the loaners, the car is having a hard time getting use to everyone cause of the adaptive shift learning.

Cool vid. Wish someone would've made something like this for the FX before we bought ours. It would've helped showcase a lot of the features in the interior. Since, at the time, we didn't have an FX yet a vid like this would've helped me dream about the day we finally got ours, lol.

I actually like the interior. My favs are the blue info screen in the instrumentation (not red like the FX), the cup holder, the storage console release and the finish on the console. Seem like small things but I'm all about the details.

What are the buttons on the bottom of the steering wheel for? Also, are there buttons or something in the driver's door pocket... seemed like there was something silvery in there.

BTW, good station... listen to it and channel 80 often!

There was a video similar to the one I made. This guy made it on the 2009 FX35 fully loaded. It's been up on there for 2 years already:

The buttons on the bottom of the steering wheel are for the bluetooth and phone call settings. There are no buttons on the driver's door pocket. Only on the upper part of the door for memory settings, mirror adjusting, and window/lock controls. I like the interior in the G37, but I've noticed on places where there is leather or soft touch surfaces in our 2nd gen FX's, it's hard plastics instead inside of the G37. But I guess you expect that since it's and entry level luxury car and the FX is Infiniti's top of the line crossover.

I got a loaner today from the dealer. I have to say the car is fast and it handles nicely. BUT if you have a family forget about it. with the driver seat half way back you wouldn't be able to get a small person behind the drivers seat. Why do they even bother putting four doors on these cars. I'm 6' 235lbs this is a car for people under 5'10". The head room is terrible. Infiniti needs to increase the length of this car by at least a foot.

The g's do have small interiors... I test drove one when I was looking for my M and it was tiny inside and felt somewhat cheap. The M actually seems to have a bigger interior than my FX did.

Couldn't agree more! Interior feels cheap and alot of the surfaces that are soft touch in the FX and other Infiniti's, are hard plastic in the G37. But then again it's an entry level luxury sedan, so I could see why it's like that.

Can't wait to see what they do with the redesign coming out in another year or two.:smile (2):

redesign is coming out this fall.

I recently had the same loaner, and I have to say, I am 6' and thought the front interior space was fine. I also had a co-worker who is 6'5'' in the passenger seat and it was still no problem. With that being said, I was still not very impressed with the car. It was fast, but I didn't think it handled well. I recently drove a 2011 BMW 328i and that honestly felt just as fast, and handled 10X better. Like others said, the interior felt somewhat cheap as well. If I was in the market for a sedan, probably the only reason I would consider a G37 is the price point, with the resale value being considerably less than the BMW's.
