Auto switch of headlights is wrong?

My headlights are always in AUTO mode. But sometimes when it is dar,it turns on only fog lights and not headlights,or only 1 headlight. When i restart the car,it is all good.

Weird? Anyone had it? I have morimoto d2s 6000k

I had a problem before where only one headlight would start up IF I had the lights on than I turn off the car and turn it back on before the headlight had a chance to auto turn off. This would result in only the left headlight turning on.

The only way to get both to turn on from that point is to turn the car completely off. Shut the light than turn on the car.

It was very strange but went away after I install new bulbs. Are u having similar problems?

Sounds familiar. But bulbs only 1 month old ;-)
And there is no way ballasts would be bad on 2010 FX,too new

Sounds like a connection problem. Take out both bulbs and switch them around. See if that helps:tup:

Here is the solution :

Quoted answer to me from retorift source, seller of Morimoto D2S 6000k

"Very interesting, another 2010 FX35 owner just told me earlier this week that his Morimoto 3Five bulbs are giving him an issue as well.

What we've found is that the Matsushita ballasts used on that car have a slightly awkward spacing to the contact pins inside the socket that fits onto the back of the light bulb, which lends to a poor connection between the two.

If you remove the socket, bend the pins ever so slightly to make a better connection with the base of the D2S bulb, you should be A-OK."

It made a majic for me. No delay before starting up bulbs, even micro second ;-) and no more random "one eye car - pirate"

Just wanted to share with you guys about OEM ballasts connection, just in case.

Weird! 09's have the matsushita ballasts too, and I never had a connection problem with the Morimoto bulbs. I'm glad you got it fixed brotha:tup:

How do you like the Morimoto's?

Pretty good. I tried to go more up the temperature with expensive Mtec 8000k,but they are way too blue :-)

So i went down to Morimoto 6000k
