Anyone have install the 4 Point Ladder brace themselves? I would love to hear how you install it. So far, I have install all the braces myself. I'm having a little diffculty with installing this one. The problem is the location of the two front mounting points. The brace is designed to mount to the existing bolts that mounts the lower control arm to the crossmember. The problem is right behind the nuts is the steering linkage and boot. I can fit a 19mm or a 3/4 inch socket with a break bar. I drive the car on ramps still not enough ground clearance to crank the break bar. I tried with an impact gun with a universal joint to bend away from the steering linkage, but afraid to try it as it is such a tight fit and it rub against the steering linkage boot.

Sorry, I forgot to take picture of the install point. I'm sure those that have install this brace themselves know what I'm talking about.

I can recommend Project X in Glenview they are very familiar in installing GTSpec braces on 350z etc plus they are cheap. Very nice guys they work on my FX.

Thanks for your suggestion. I might resort to that if comes to that. I'm sure if I have access to a lift, just need about 2ft off the ground, the install will be a breeze.

Hey Andy,
How did you ever end up installing this? I have had this brace for two years now and I can't install it myself because I can't get that bolt off. I'm thinking that
having the car on ramps is not a proper way to install this...that you do need a lift to take pressure off of the control arm. Let me know what you did. Thx.

Damien, I ended up drive to a local muffler shop and $10 to have them loosen the two bolts. Once the car is on a lift, the two bolts just wouldn't stand a chance with a 24" break bar. Drove home and finish the install. Now those two bolts has been loosen, its no longer a problem to remove it with the car on ramps, install the brace, and torque it to specs.

There are times, that I wish I have a lift! :smile (2):

People should jump on this...rare piece tho the install is not easy. From looking at the mounting points...I can tell it will make a good difference. Will get mine installed soon.

I think that is a little overpriced...I got 4 braces from B2Autodesigns...both rear, the mid chassis and the 4 points ladder for $550 total with shipping in 2011...jst saying.
