That's why stock is fine for me. Luxury ride when you want it, and sporty feeling when you need it.

Oh and my previous strut brace experiences werent the best lol. When you hit a pothole on one side. The impact from that one side transfers to the opposite side too. It makes the ride worse, but making cornering better.

I wouldn't stay completely stock Aaron... A strut bar in this application doesn't affect the comfort at all, but gives a noticeable improvement in handling... I do recommend it.

With all the things Infiniti has done to improve handling and steering in corners with the FX50 S, I wonder why they wouldn't include this piece? Wouldn't they include this over more expensive rear steering, sport mode to make cornering adaptive, and other features? That's why I wonder why sometimes certain mods were not in the original specs especially since in these models Infiniti didn't really seem to be focused on costs over performance.

Because it's more impressive to say "rear steering, sport mode to make cornering adaptive" over bar that connects the strut towers

Havnt check the forum for a long time. Glad to see u guys like the bars! Please don't sell mine to other ppl. I will forward payment asap!

When loosening the existing bolts to install the strut bar, is there anything to watch out for? Did you guys just hand tighten it by feel, or did you torque it?

Correction the following is for the 1st Gen FX
The big thing is not to overtighten it. I did a search and it said the 3 strut top nuts holding the bar on each side should be 35 FT-LBS. Here is where I found it: ///95987&postcount=22

Quote:
"OE Specs are 35 ft/lbs for the strut tower nuts and Stillen recommends hand tightening for the through bolts on the bar itself which is around 20-25 ft/lbs."

The 2nd Gen should only be torqued to 22 FT-LBS as stated by Ryus a couple posts below.

Be careful, the definition of "hand tightening" can vary.
- tighten by only using hands and fingers
- tighten by using hand tools

Huge difference :tongue (2):

I always use my torque wrench :smile (2):

Thanks guys for the group buy :)

Sorry it took alittle longer. All bars have shipped for the group buy. We do have a couple left over if anybody is interested.

I did some more research, and as an FYI for other members, the tightening fo the 3 nuts should be 22ft.lbs for 2nd gen:

That is excellent, thanks for the correction Ryus. The specs I gave were for the 1st Gen. Much appreciated. I will edit my previous post.

I just installed this product on my FX50. Note: You must remove the engine cover to be able to install it on the FX50. This one would install on the FX35 perfectly but the FX50 has a different bigger engine cover. I had to remove it to install it. Installed it and everything is find, I have to custom make the engine cover so that I can restore the engines look though the engine cover will go on TOP of the Strut brace and not the opposite. Overall stability increased. No increase in roughness as the FX50 is rough enough.

Good stuff smallworm, I know one of the FX50 members was wondering about the engine cover.

And when i thought my engine bay is dirty!:tongue (2): The strut is amazing, i installed it yesterday and the car feels amazing!!!!
Just one question...The strut bur itself, rattles a bit in the mountings though i tightened it. Is it normal?

It shouldn't, is it rubbing on something or else there must be something loose. Did you tighten up the strut with those long bolts on each end of the strut brace.
