BBK GB feeler thread

Very nice. That would be awesome if they clear the OEM wheels, the rears might, but I think you still might need 5-10 mm in the front.

I keep a spacer in my car for the spare tire.

Looks great with the calipers tight up to the wheel like that! How was the bed in process, lots of smoke? =)

Got to tell you, I love the sense of confidence in these brakes man......

Dude! You need a car wash. LOL! :tongue (2):
Yeah, I know. The weatherman said we're expecting snow. So I wait a couple more days

Yeah Lance, gotta see more pictures of yours. Anyhow, perhaps is the angle that pics were taken, but there are about 1.5 inches between the caliper and wheel. I'll take off the 25mm spacer and mount the OE wheel directly for fitments and references for this BBK.

:frown: I can't see smoke. I did the bedding early this morning, like 1:30am, lol. I did hear some clunking noise when I take her from 60mph down to 15mph. Is that normal? The clunking noise is in each every time I slow her down. No its not the ABS engaging, the brake pedal did not pulses.

I totally agree, the braking is awesome and safe. Going shopping for tires for my 22s this afternoon :smile (2):

I had some funky low speed rotating noise until I bedded them then then were silent. Hmmm clunking.....how loud, how frequent?

It cames up on every braking while i'm bedding. No noise on normal driving/braking. I have not try harding braking. Honestly, I was I little hard on the brake to slow it down during bedding. I have to try it with the same weight on the brake pedal to see if the noise comes back.

You installed these yourself, right? Did you make sure everything was torqued down correctly, and nothing overtightened? Maybe you just need to do some more hard braking to bed them in more.

dont be shy bedding in the pads, you should also get some brake pad smell with smoke, get out of the car to check if needed. when the pads get hot, you really have to "stand" on the brake pedal to get it to stop.

my ABS doesnt really pulse but do make a loud clunk noise.

Yeah, I make sure all bolts are torqued correctly.

Hmm, now that you mention the ABS doesn't pulse the brake pedal. I wonder if the noise I heard while bedding in was the ABS kicking in. As I said before, I wasn't too hard on the braking, but harder than normal driving/braking for sure. With that said, I have not really bed in the pads & rotor? The brake pedal feels a little spongy. I might have to bleed the system and go through the bed-in procedure again.

Anyone comment one those "one man brake bleeding kit" that uses compress air as vacuum to suck the fluid from the bleeder? That's what I use last night to bleed the system.

Motul power bleeder, or something like that? I know a couple people who swear by them and say they are much easier.

one man bleeders should be fine if you used it right. since you replaced all 4 lines, did you bleed the rears or front first? I believe you have to do the rears first then the front (then I would recheck the rears.)

You really have to get on the brakes to bed them in correctly since you are trying to bring them up to temp. there is a good bed in procedure here .. somewhere.. searching now

here is one from stoptech

Thanks, I think I have read about them too. Yeah, I did the bled the farthest to the closest. Start from RR, RL, FR and then FL.

I used the Stop tech procedure and I've had no issues since then.......other than kick-ass braking. Is kick-ass braking normal with a BKK?
