Will my original TPSM's fit my new wheels

Hey everybody whatup? I have stock 18" wheels on my 2003 fx45 with the TPSM's. I am looking at buying some 20" OEM fx45 wheels but they do not come with the sensors. Can I use the sensors from my old wheels on these? What about using the sensors on an aftermarket wheel. Can that be done?

 OR  ?

Peace

you can def used it on oem 20" wheels, however when it comes to aftermarket wheels some wont take the sensors. I know when i was looking for my aftermarket wheels some would say that it wont accept sensors. Thats why i picked wheels that i could swap the sensors into.

1) yes, you can use your 18" OEM wheels TPMS and put them into 20" OEM wheels. Be sure to use a service kit, it includes a Valve Core, Valve Cap, Grommet Nut and Grommet. If you don't, you will have a higher chance of having a leak.

You can order them here:

2) Aftermarket wheels, it all depends on the wheel. If not, you can always buy accessories to make it work:

As a FYI, 2003 FX45's came stock with 20" wheels. Someone must have switched yours out! =)

Thanks to all for your help. That makes it easy for me.
I know my wheels must have been swapped. I have all the options. Tech package and Sport package ( well at least I have the aluminum pedals)
I don't know what happened, but this car was definitely in the best condition of all that I drove, so I had to overlook the tiny wheels. I am all set to pull the trigger on some stock 20's . Anyone interested in my old 18's?
Peace

It could very well be that the previous owner didn't like the ride of 20" wheels and went with 18" wheels, which makes the ride softer since more sidewall.

20" wheels are not that hard to find. You can also get Nissan GT-R wheels, which I think look awesome. Lots of options.

I think that could be the case. It would be a bit of a pain to find another set of wheels just to make the exchange. It does ride very soft with the 18's but i'm sure I can handle the increased stiffness with the 20's.
I am watching a bid on eBay that ends tommorow. I was going to bid as high as 700 including shipping. Anymore than that and I will look at aftermarket wheels (or GT-R's)JK
Whats your feeling on 22's?
Your GT-R wheels look sick. Excellent choice.

I had 18's, 20's and 22's. The ride on the FX is typically "hard" and I would say there isn't a significant difference from 18's to 22's -- not enough to stop people from getting 22's as they look better (in my opinion). If you look at the side wall we have with 22's, there is more than most cars -- as the FX was made to handle 20's as OEM.

I run 20's in the winter, only because winter tires are limited in larger than 20's.

Go 22's, you won't be disappointed.

Sorry, those were StuLax18's GT-R wheels I was looking at. My bad. They do look sick though.
Well I won the factory 20" wheels on eBay. Excellent condition. No curb rash. Includes center caps. $510 plus shipping (150) I am stoked! I will probably mount some blizzaks on these for the winter. I was also considering getting them powder coated "wet black" any recommendations. I live in Colorado and they use mag chloride on the roads. Do you think it will screw up the powdercoating? Maybe I'll just leave them factory silver. They sure do clean easy.
At some point I would like to get a set of black Spidero 22's. Maybe next spring/summer.
I'll post pics when I get my new rubber. I also have my H&R springs ready to install.:tonguey:

Powder coating is fine and will hold up to the elements and chemicals -- but powder coat is prone to chipping if you hit a curb.

I would personally leave them alone. You could do a clear coat on the wheels to make them even easier to clean. You can actually buy a clear spray paint can made for wheels from your local auto store and spray them down yourself while you have the wheel unmounted.

blizzaks are great. Hankook IPike are another good option.

Damn I was looking at those same wheels but forgot to bid on them lol.

I set my alarm to remind me of bids that are closing. I've missed too many sweet deals by not paying attention.
Thanks for not bidding on the wheels.
bidding wars = $
There will be another set along soon I am sure.
Good Luck

I found a great deal on some blizzak's. i think I will go with them.
Is 265 50 20 the best size or can I go with 285's? Any advantages to one or the other?
One other question.
Who hits curbs?
Thanks
J.
