Got to give props to my friend rijc99 (Richard) on here. He went out of his way to send me a shorter antenna, and never asked for anything in return =] What a great guy!

Basically I did this to get rid of that hideous long antenna on the roof like the one they put on the G37 convertible. The previous antenna made my ride look like an RC car:tonguey:

BTW I washed my car this morning at 4:30 AM, and literally put 6 layers of Dodo Juice Purple Haze wax on afterwards.

Next month I'm picking up my OEM lip from the dealer when I go to get my oil changed:wink:

How's the reception with your stubby now?
I was planning on installing one about half the legth of the OEM antenna.

Still the same

On my way back home through the Lincoln Tunnel, I was still receiving my signal.

The part that sticks up is for the regular AM/FM radio, and the base part of the antenna is for the XM Satellite radio.

ahahahah i think thats the only think i dont particularly like about the FX models the antenna just looks awkward

Haha yea I agree with you!

I think the stock antenna ruins the lines of the car. The rear is meant to look like it sloping to look more like a sports coupe. The tall stock antenna makes the back look higher for some reason. The shorter antenna I put on looks more proper and goes well with the sloping roof line. Previous antenna was an eye soar IMO.

What antenna is this? I read where you got it from, but nothing about what it came off of, or where I can get one. I'v got my car in the shop getting new paint on the roof, would love to have the antenna swapped out while I'm at it..

Ask RIJC99, he sent it to me. It came with a hex bolt too so that it could preserve the threads where the antenna screws in.

The rubber part that goes over it is not really an antenna, but more of an antenna delete. You still get your radio reception though with no quality loss. The base of the antenna that sits on the car is for XM and the part that I got rid of for the smaller antenna that sticks up is for the regular AM/FM radio.

Since your doing a roof rail delete, it would look better if you did what I did too.

I contacted RIJC99 a while ago, and he told me it's not a short antenna. It's a vacuum cap with a screw inside to protect the threads.
You just unscrew the OEM antenna and add the above.

Yup, and you still get the same quality radio reception. The only difference is that it looks better and cleaner.

I still don't get where I can get one of these.. I understand who you got yours from, it's just the "what am I exactly looking at (i.e G37 antenna on a FX35? a aftermarket add-on? a Pep Boy special that I'm going to have to have?). :confused.:

All I know is that I need it, and I want it!!!! lol... If someone can chime in and tell me how I can make that happen it would be EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!
