Let's see, here it goes:rofl:

I bought the 2009 FX35 on March 30,2010 and picked it up March 31,2010 at Infiniti of Massepequa. I was in love with the bold styling, performance, and all of it and all the technical features it had. That's why I was looking for a used one fully loaded and maxed out with every single option and package possible. When I bought it the car had 21,000 miles on it. The first drive home was amazing. But the first drive home did bother me cause I got a center console creaking noise when making turns and going over bumps. Apparently the previous owner didn't have this issue fixed by the dealer. I ended up doing it myself even though I have a warranty. The reason why is when you take a car into the dealer to fix a noise on the interior, usually they make it worse. Plus they scratch stuff up on top of that. So I'd rather save myself the fuss and do it myself. I also had the power tilt and telescoping function motor replaced at the dealer cause mine failed. Apparently the motor making it move was made out of specification. There was a TSB issued for that.

It's now August 19, 2010 and I'm at 27,280 miles. Since then I've had zero problems with this car besides those two little issues above. The motor oil has been changed twice already with Quakerstate Synthetic. I will be switching to Mobil 1 Synthetic in September. Yes I changed my oil every 3000 miles out of habbit. I also changed the micro cabin filter myself as well. I upgraded it to the FX50's grape polyphenol carbon filter. I've also changed the intake filters too. With 27,280 miles on the clock I still have my new car smell. It's still so strong that when I get into the car in the morning it just hits me in the face!

I must say this car rides really smooth. It takes bumps really good. NYC streets are horrible here, so you can get an idea. Everyone knows the S550 rides smooth cause I've been in them, and IMHO I think the FX is not too far from that, just a little more firm. Riding in the FX reminds you that your riding in a luxury car, not just a sports car. It's soooooo quiet too! The other day I turned off the car when I hit the push button cause I thought it wasn't on when it was actually on lol. It handle's superb too. I know people on here have experienced the 7 speed tranny problem with the harsh 4-3 downshifts, but I haven't. My FX35 was built last year back in March of 2009. So maybe since mine is a later production date, that explains why I don't have that issue. Anyways my transmission shifts buttery smooth. I almost don't feel it shifting sometimes haha. No hard downshift either. The gearbox is very precise. I've never had no tranny update either.

Oh and I also love the technology package on it. The distance control assist is such a cool feature. It actually monitors the traffic in front of me and when something pops up in front of me, a picture of a car shows up on the cluster then it actually pushes the brake pedal down, and also controls the gas pedal itself too. When you see it happening it looks like a ghost is operating the car lol. I drove around in the city all day the other day and never used the brake or gas pedal once. The car handled everything for me. I just have to keep an eye out on the gas. It even keeps me aligned in my lane itself, and watches out for possible pending collisions. It practically drives itself. If Infiniti actually marketed this stuff more on TV, I'm pretty sure they would be making even more sales than what they are now. Nobody I tell this stuff too believes me that it can do it until I show them. Oh and the around view monitor makes parking easy! It's hard to park this bitch cause the hoodline is real high. Having the around view monitor makes it a breeze!

Interior quality is excellent too. Every single piece you can touch in the car is premium soft touch surfaces and leather. Only thing I see that's plastic is the rocker plates you step on to get into the car. Everything feels very solid:tup:. Although the exhaust is toned down compared to the 1st gen, it still sounds real nice inside of the cabin and hearing it from the outside.

I do have some complaints though. The engine in it is a little underwhelming. Yes it's a nice HR motor and Infiniti does so well with building them, but the power is a little ehhh. But I found out sticking the gear selector into driver's sport mode delivers powertrain performance alot better. Acceleration also becomes more responsive too. It lets you get more out of the motor and hold gears longer for more spirited driving. It's good for day to day driving, but if your wanting more out of it, that's where the FX50 comes along. Another complaint is getting inside of the car. I'm 5"8 and getting inside can be a little annoying, especially in the rear seats. I have to duck my head to get in and watch not to hit my shoes up against something and scuff it. But I guess that's the price you have to pay for such a sleek looking profile :tongue (2):. Another complaint is the cupholder's. Infiniti never used any rubber supports inside of them. So if you have a bottle or cup inside them, it makes the bottles rattle around to the point you want to throw them out the window lol. Also legroom in the rear could be better. But I really don't care cause I never sit in the back unless someone else is driving.

Overall I'm very happy with the car. There is still some thing's that Infiniti should sort out though like adding a power trunk (which they will for 2011). Just like the 1st gen's were when they came out, the 2nd gen's are real big head turners. I love driving something that no one else really has on the road. It's good to be different:wink:. I'm keeping this car till the day it doesn't run anymore. I will keep it for 20 or 30 years if I have too:laugh:

When I bought it at the dealer they asked me how long would I plan to keep it, and I told them I was going to drive it till all the 4 wheels fall off.

I tend to not listen to consumer reports too much. That's why I made my own honest review for anyone interested in getting a 2009+ FX, or anyone on here looking to upgrade in the future.

hehe... been driving much lately... all that cool electronics stuff is making me jealous... i just found out about my Delayed/fade courtesy light... when lights go ON/OFF by itself depending on outside brightness... found this out after 2 years of ownership...

WOW, that many miles in six months? :eek.:

Is 6000 miles a lot for six months??? Lowest lease you can get is 12,000 per year so I would say that's on the low end of mileage for one year.

I put just shy of 20,000 miles a year on my FX and that's just from driving 45 minutes to and from work each day.

good to know you're happy with your car. FX seems to have minor problems here and there but there's nothing you can't fix.

Oh, I misread the first part about getting it with 21,000 miles. :nerd (2):

But ya I have a similar commute and put on about 18,0000 last year. Way too much in my opinion.

I'm trying my best not to put too many miles on it haha. What really puts miles on the car was driving from here to Ohio. That put 1,300 miles on it in one trip. And I drove to Mohegan Sun like like 8 times with the last 3 months, and to Potomac, Maryland to visit some relatives of mine. As much as I don't like putting alot of miles on it, they sure do add up pretty quick. I'll be at 30,000 miles by January of next year.

Oh one thing I forgot to add. The dealer has been really nice to me since I've had the car. They gave me a free synthetic oil change last time. Even though it was Quakerstate, I still took it lol. Free is free I guess haha. They didn't have Mobil 1 in stock anyways. Oh and I backed up over the trash can lid in my driveway and cracked the rear right mudflap. The dealer gave me a new one for free under warranty even though it was my fault.

Oh and a rock bounced on the highway and busted my foglight open too. When I was in for an oil change, the service rep guy saw it, and gave me a new foglight and replaced it for free for me. I didn't ask, he just did it =]

I also get 20% off any service performed at the dealer too.

When I see complaints about Infiniti dealer's, I don't think their all like that. It just depends on which dealer you take it to I guess.

Just like cars, no one is perfect =]

I've been reading members comments on their FX's and I'd like to share mine as well. When I joined IS in June 2010 I thought by using FIRST FX35 as my sign on name that it tell my story. However after owning the car for 2 months and adding K&N air filter, Z-Tube, 6000 HID fogs and 35% tint. My First FX 35 was crushed in a New Jersey garage collapes that was attached to my building to in July.( Thank God no one was hurt)
Fast forward to 2 weeks ago when I picked up a 2009 FX35 fully loaded and I'm unshure as to whether I should mod my second FX or just remember the good times.
I do like the 2009 FX but I'm still attached to first one. Will adding just a K&N filter make a difference or will that move start the craze again. All of the aforementioned mods would not have happened had I not loved the comments you guys have made on this site.
Any suggestions?
