Dead fx, New Battery or another problem?

The battery in my 04 fx35 is less then 2 years old. After a 500 mile drive home from upstate new york I parked my car in the garage. 7 hrs later I went to start it in the morning and it was dead, completely dead. Tried jumping it and it still wouldn't start, not even a noise. Do you think it's the battery or something else is going on. I would hate to buy another battery when the problem is not the battery. Thanks for the help.

I've boiled (!) a battery once and lost all acid! Check out if there is any - You have made pretty long journey so would check the battery first. Second step -the immo.

you said nothing when you tried to start it might want to check the negative battery cable and see, because even a dead battery can get jump started so might be worth taking a look. If you have a meter check to see what you are getting from the battery.

The battery is a sealed battery so I don't think I would have a battery acid issue due to it boiling. All the connections and fuses are good to go as well. Could it be an alternator problem. Also is there a way to get the car into neutral so I can roll it of my garage.

disconnect the battery and put the negative and postive on the jumper cables and start it this way

^This is a very dangerous method for jump starting. The negative side of the receiving end of the jumper cable should be connected to the chassis of the vehicle (ground). Disconnecting the battery completely won't help anything, and reconnecting the cables to a depleted battery while the engine is running will probably create sparks. Not exactly the coolest thing you could do near your battery... :bomb:

Just put a new battery in. Battery was under warranty so they swapped me a new battery. Car is still completely dead. Any ideas or is it time to get it towed to infiniti?

All the fuses are good to go. I finally decided the problem was beyond my abilities and had it towed to infiniti. They are going to look at the car tomorrow. As far as lights go only the brake light appeared on the dash.

Just thought I would post what it ended up being for future refrence. There was bad wiring coming out of the fuse box which was providing only 7 volts to the car, which is not enough to run it. Took them 5 hrs to figure it out tho which ended up being a nice chunk of change from the pocket.

What caused the faulty wiring?
