oh yea face soap is the winner. why havent i thought of that as the cleaning solution for removing transfered jean dye from the leather car seat?

Take a damp towel (not wet) with hot water and a small amount face soap.
Rub gently, turning the towel frequently to keep from spreading the ink.
That should work safely.
When jeans fade like that is most likely due to a low quality water based ink.
This ink is broke down by moisture such as human sweat.
Water based inks are easily cleaned up with soap.
In your case, the color of your leather is the determining factor as to the strength of the type of soap you use.
