I just got back from doing the amp upgrade, and wow, what a difference. Put in a JL 250W RMS mono amp. Bass is noticably better. Really evens out the system.

Nice! It's pretty amazing what those little Bose woofers will do when they have reasonable amplification.
Where did you put your amp? I've been pondering lately where I could hide my amp so that I can have my spare tire back... No luck yet.
^I thought about that, but the setup results in a 2ohm max driver load which makes my amp hot hot hot. I didn't like the absolute lack of ventilation under the plastic tray. Though, your mention has me thinking I may be able to vent it somehow... That location is ideal, venting aside.

Custom installers use small fans like seen in computers to move air in otherwise enclosed areas. All sorts of diameters available.
Usually in pairs - one push, one pull. Radio shack, EPO, Fry's ... they all carry them for native 12V use. Just make sure you read up on the decibel level of the fan. Don't want ones that are loud, or that might create noise in your audio circuit. Isolating the fan circuit usually takes care of noise.
I assume you're not talking to the OP...What wheels do you have on your 35? I have the Ivory Peral and am looking to upgrade my factory 20s with some black wheels, those look fantastic.

I know this thread is a couple of years old, but this is a fantastic alternative for those of us who want to keep the vehicle as stock looking as possible (and keep our cargo space at the max). But... I'm still looking for an alternative to pulling the spare tire. I've looked at the the Infinity Basslink, the Wicked CAS box, etc. I think the only choice I have is to by a mono amp to power the Bose sub and mount it somewhere, but where? Maybe I have missed a thread somewhere. Also, I'd like to know if anyone has replaced the stock dual Bose 6" with any other drivers (Kicker, etc.) with any success, with an aftermarket amp. Thanks.
